Prop duo arrive on short-term deals
   DIR By: never sleep
       Date: April 16, 2026, 12:30 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
Luke Yendle and Andrew Turner have joined Harlequins until the
       end of the 2025/26 season.
The duo arrive to provide cover in the front row for the final
six rounds of the Gallagher PREM with eight props currently
       sidelined through injury.
Yendle (tighthead) re-joins on loan from Welsh region Dragons
RFC after a stint at The Stoop earlier this season for the
       Quarters’ PREM Cup campaign.
The 25-year-old prop has previously represented Super Rygbi
Cymru sides Newport RFC and Pontypool RFC, as well as former
       English CHAMP outfit Jersey Reds.

Turner (loosehead) signs from CHAMP side Doncaster Knights until
the end of the season after 20 months at Castle Park.
The former England Under-20 international cut his cloth in the
West Country emerging from the Bristol Bears’ Academy, before
making the switch to South Yorkshire ahead of the 2024/25
campaign to gain first team experience.
Both Yendle and Turner are immediately available for selection.
Head Coach, Jason Gilmore said: “With several of our front row
options unavailable we’ve needed to bring back Luke (Yendle) and
welcome Andrew (Turner) into the group ahead of this weekend’s
       fixture against Bath.
“It’s important we have sufficient cover in a critical position,
not only to fulfil our fixtures, but so we can train to a
standard throughout the week. We will have a couple of boys back
in the coming weeks, but this is tricky period we need to
manage. I know both Luke and Andrew are excited to be in the
environment and will be giving their all to the Club in the time
       they’re with us.”

Not much choice because we needed someone. But we'd be
concentrating on just holding the scrum and getting the ball out
quickly, because we are very low down the list for props now.

I'd like to see Hobson and Streeter given starts. It's a big ask
against whichever front row Bath fields, but may as well throw
the young lads in and give them a real test. We're going to get
       a shellacking anyway.

Hope Dommers is on the money to get the ball out pronto before
we get pushed too far ;D

And start Friday to get the ball away, not Townsend doing his
       best Ben Young's impression

It's true. Whoever we put out is going to be broken by the Bath
scrum, because they are ridiculous units. Our scrum might be
okay if we're really quick, but we'd better not spend the game
knocking on, because when it's their scrum, they will be
merciless. Absent really great ball handling by everyone, this
       could be a painful game.

I wonder if Bath may do that South African thing where they
infringe to get scrums knowing that they can win penalties
(leading to yellow cards) from scrums.

They probably don't need to. We'll be lucky if they score less
       than 60 without cheating.
