Well, I didn't realise the losers' cup was so popular.

Could be made up by more knock out matches though if we
       progressed

My favourite away game was in Prato (just outside Florence), in
basking hot weather in January 2011. The game was moved to the
local football stadium (with the pitch fenced in), and the home
team supporters association closed the road outside the stadium
and fed us all. Thank you Quinssa for arranging.

But that aside look what Bath did after a horrendous season,
used Challenge, and Prem cup to build team , it can be done

Agree with above comments re challenge cup chance to take a step
back and rebuild. However remember what happened when we won
this competition at the Madjeski Stadium in 2004 and the
       following year we where relegated!

Conversely, remember we won it at Cardiff in 2011, and did
"reasonably well" in the Premiership the following year!

Didn't we qualify having come down from the Champions Cup? In
other words, we had quite a good team anyway.

Nope. We were Tier one seeds in the Challenge Cup draw. In the
Quarter and Semi-finals we beat two of the teams that dropped
down from the HC (Wasps then Munster) and for the first time in
a long time the final was played between two teams that had
started the Challenge Cup at the pool stage.
