They were fairly well known in the early 00s. To compare with
other recent BG/BSKO acts, I’d say they’re on a rough par with
Feeder but probably not as big as Craig David, Kaiser Chiefs, or
Faithless

Their first 2 albums were #1s in the UK:
Stars of CCTV (2005) - Double Platinum (600,000-900,000 sales)
Once Upon a Time in the West (2007) - Gold (100,000 - 200,000
sales)
Famous singles: (all top 20 in the UK):
Cash Machine
Tied Up Too Tight
Hard to Beat
Living for the Weekend
Better Do Better
Suburban Knights
I would say that they were pretty big a few years ago - but then
had a long hiatus but reunited in 2022

Are there any other bands from Staines, apart from Shoonya.

From my searches, apart from Shoonya and Hard Fi, I have found:
Contempo (basically Hard Fi before it was called Hard Fi)
Catastrophe
The Staines Brass Band
Mike Vickers (founding member of Manfred Mann)
So - unless anyone can prove me wrong, I will stick by my
comment - i.e. Hard Fi are probably amongst the top 10 bands to
have come out of Staines in recent years.

Staines has a population of 25,593 so he even if they all come
to watch Hard Fi, there will still be plenty of seats left.

Suburban Knights used to be a staple of the matchday music
(generally would be one of the last few songs before London
Calling), though I realise this was when Mad Max was in charge
of the tannoy system and I also realise this is rather a longer
time ago than my brain is willing to accept.
