not sure I agree with that based on how many pens we seem to
give away compared to most, we're just worse at it than them. We
gave something like 11 pens away in the first half against sale
and had warnings from the ref. Listening to ref link Dommers was
questioning things, at one point having a bit of a heated
conversation with the ref when pointing out he had missed a
couple of knock on's prior to him giving them one of their
penalties and being told to go away. The ref didn't seem to like
that for some reason. We didnt play the ref well for sure but we
did all the above things and got pinged everytime.

I'd expect the captain to get clarification on why his team is
being penalised.
Pointing out that the ref has missed a few knock-ons is frankly
f****** stupid.

They can't overrule now. They can only bring stuff to the ref's
attention.

But, But, But, the players are fully aware of the speed and
motion thing so should be able to pass the ball backwards at
enough of an angle so it does not arrive at a point in front of
where it departed. It is really not a matter of understanding
Physics, it is simply coaches and players bending the rules.

No it isn't. If the forward pass law was applied incorrectly
like that it would kill the game as a spectacle.
No-one is "bending the rules"; you just don't understand them.

The present Law on a forward pass just leads to inconsistency,
so it should change to allow consistency and be easier for
spectators to understand, so direction of hands only would be my
suggestion.

There's no inconsistency other than in comprehension and it's
really not that difficult to understand.

If you watch a game on TNT you will get a the need to check the
last pass, at least once in a game followed by a debate with
diferent views on if it is a forward pass.
So perhaps not a perfect law, and very similiar passes often
have very different outcomes.

There really isn't the technology to do that properly, we're
miles away from it. It would also be expensive and limited to
the very top of the game so would just widen the gap between
that and the rest, which isn't a good thing.
Largely what people really want is consistency from refs and
between refs. The actual accuracy of the calls is often
extremely subjective.
