Arwel Thomas was the last Welsh 10 we had, he always looked

He only played about four times for us, which was about four
time too many.

Ha ha... Challinor was good enough to play England A. He was a
pretty solid and reliable fly half.
Weirdly, I used to play against a fly half that looked just like
him. Even more weirdly, he played for Guildford & Godalming,
which is the club I think Challinor coached at.

He was an odd one. Actually came with a fairly decent pedigree,
but came to us looking like he'd won a competition. I think he
once got an intercept try and looked terrified at what was ahead

[/quote He got all his Wales caps between 1996 and 2000, turned
down a move to Toulouse in 1999 and moved to Pau, I think in
2003, and his career imploded, we got him about six years too
late.
And tried to revive his career, which in normal Quins fashion
failed.

I played a bit in later life for Old Guildfordians at Stoke Park
before they "merged" with Guildford & Godalming to become
Guildford RFC playing at Broadwater, Godalming. Essentially,
OG's had the money and the players and G&G had a nice ground. We
held our mothers "Wake" at Broadwater after the merger and we
also enjoyed coaching sessions there from one or two Quins
players.
OG's continue to exist seperately and play at Stoke Park
currently.
