Quelle dommage! Upsetting Welsh people? After me you're first.

think he's been a solid back up with a few good moments but not
set the world alight, Benson I think has been better. He was a
good solid back up player, wish him luck but I think we are
covered well here now, he'd never get game time.

Seems like a decent enough bloke but always had a sense of the
Botica about him - just slightly always waiting for a bit a
clanger.

For me, he's always just looked a bit... slow. Both in terms of
his movement with ball in hand, but also to work out defences.
He's thrown a few lovely passes and the delayed pass is clearly
something he is making a USP of, but that's really not enough to
cut it at this level.
I'm much happier for Benson to become our number two and Furbank
to bolster the ranks (playing primarily at 15 but with the
option to go to 10), with Bellamy looking like a possible
successor as a Furbank-esque 15/10. If Furbank is incoming,
Bellamy can only benefit learning from him.
But 10 has never really been our problem, let's be honest...

Never’s a big word. TBQ.
Some of us can remember the days before Nick Evans or even
Andrew Mehrtens, and it’s only this decade that we’ve had
consistently good options as backup 10s.
JEv is definitely in the upper tier of backups, but Benson is a
cut above.

Anytime Botica/Malone/Clegg started filled me with a sense of
doom.

I thought that Botica was okay when he started.
The issue was when he came on off the bench.

Botica & Clegg definitely had too many "rabbit in the headlight"
moments and braindead decision making - particularly Botica
obviously. Malone I just remember as being a bit of a journeyman
all round.
I haven't really seen those problems with Jarrod but his kicking
- both from hand and set piece - is far too flaky. The rest of
his game has been pretty solid. He even looked halfway OK at 12
:D

Can we add Heron to that list.

We very much can. I’d forgotten about him.
