I know nothing about him but tighthead has been a real problem
for us since Collier left and our current lot are 'OK' - Delgado
is more promise than end result, Titi has been useless, and
Williams has been better than feared but not tearing up trees.
Our most promising options are kids. So fingers crossed, eh

Well we do need a Tight Head and if he's a saffa he's probably
       good.

Let's hope he's the new Wilco.
Delgado (and Wenger on the loosehead) really need more minutes
this season to demonstrate if they can do it. The fact Wenger
has hardly played with Baxter out for a long spell is
       concerning.
Realistically we need our front row options to look like:
       Baxter, Wenger, New LH
       New Hooker, New Hooker, Riley
       Swiegers, Delgado, Streeter
       Hobson covering LH and TH
A new LH might be pushing it, but if Wenger isn't up to
       standard, it's needed...
That would mean exiting Walker, Musk, Titi, Williams and Kerrod.
Kerrod has been a good servant but maybe a season too far.

Hobson has shown he's up to it, and with Bomb coaching him he
should only get better. Streeter too, as he's definitely not
       been out of his depth.
The Argies have been criminally underused IMO. Walker seems to
have tailed off. Williams and Titi haven't been the best, and
Riley has all but disappeared. I'm not putting all of our scrum
woes onto the front row though. We lack bulk at lock. We also
       seem to lack an edge.
Can we get Bakkies out of retirement? 😁

I think we have a prop crisis at the moment and they’re all
injured. We may be poor at the moment because some are playing
with niggles. It was one of our few strengths earlier in the
       season.

Agree re: Hobson - he's your third LH. Proved earlier this
season that he's ready... then got injured. Realistically, if
we're reducing our squad size like we all agree we should, we
will be relying on injury jokers at some point... but as
mentioned elsewhere, let's please have a root and branch review
of what the S&C lot are doing! Or are the coaches training the
boys too hard? Either way, something's not right there and needs
       to change.
Re: lock, couldn't agree more. We brought in Treadwell and Petti
       - both get busy around the park in different ways but I'm sorry,
but look at the top 4 and the bulk we have at lock just does not
compare to the likes of Van Der Mescht at Saints, Roux at Bath,
Tuima/Jenkins at Exeter, Wells/Chessum at Tigers (and they've
had Martin injured long term - he'll bring heft to Sarries next
season, watch them shoot up the table if he stays fit).
Launchbury would have added the bulk we needed if we'd signed
him 6-7 seasons earlier. Not sure why we thought he would still
cut it - terrible bit of business. He surely has to leave this
summer and we know Steph is leaving. With that in mind, the
thinking should be geared towards buying Elliot Williams time to
develop into that enforcer role for us longer term - he's the
guy we can build a scrum around in a few years' time, but not
       yet.
That means we really do need to bring in an established (but
please not old and past it) beast to pair up alongside either
Treadwell or Petti or CCS in the row (horses for courses
selection) for 2-3 seasons. I know the coaches think Jonny Green
is their guy, but I'm not convinced. Would love him to prove me
       wrong.
And seeing as I raise the age profile of our signings, I know
age is not the be all and end all, but it would be lovely to see
us sign some 24-29 year olds rather than 30-35 year olds if and
when we do get around to some recruitment. I know we need
experience too, but we've signed too many players past their
prime during recent recruitment drives and I'd much rather have
the "experience" of a 26 year old who is frequently at the heart
of winning efforts than a 32 year old with two shot knees just
for the sake of the international caps they clocked up 4-5
       seasons ago.

Agree that Hobson and Streeter look promising, and I'd be happy
with both being third-choice in their respective positions. Not
sure either is ready to be first-choice, and realistically you
need two LH's and two TH's who are European/Prem quality and can
play week-in, week-out, incase one goes down.
The question mark for me at loosehead is Wenger, simply because
I've not seen enough to judge whether he can step up when Baxter
       is out.
We have another hybrid forward incoming in Dun, so replacing
Lewies/Launchbury with a beast makes sense to give optionality.

I've said this several times - we need to stop buying in so many
players. Stick with what we have, especially academy graduates,
and get them playing together and developing together. That team
will bond, gel, and spill blood for each other. They'll also
know each others' game inside out. Bolster the pack with a lump
of a lock. Maybe bring in a prop, for depth. But stick with
home-grown talent. It may be a season of pain and growth, but
that's what we've had. the difference is there won't be the
constant shuffling of personnel, with guys coming ion and hardly
playing, then leaving before they even settle.

Thoroughly disagree - Harry Williams has been woeful. Offers
worse than nothing in the loose with hands like udders, and when
he's not on roller skates, his side of the scrum gets pinged
every time. I'd put on him on a par with Titi with how awful of
       a signing he's been.
