Matson may not have been treated well, but I dont think it was
that bad that no Aus / NZ coach (other than Gilmore) would work
for us.
I find it hard to believe also that the Board would think that
having Gilmore confirmed as head coach would be enough to
improve the team or stop the loss of fans.
So lets hope the Daily Mail are just making it up.

Re: Matson, this does seem to have been mentioned in a few
places now, so have to assume there's plenty of truth to it.
It's really weird, would love to know more about what happened
there.

Certainly sounds like something happened and the outcome would
tally but why is it only surfacing now?

My guess is that Tabai is a principled chap and chose not to
mouth off in public about the situation of his departure.
However, when asked by colleagues in NZ and elsewhere he told
them what he thought and that information is now coming to light
via other sources - i.e. the people who have turned Harlequins
down after talking to him.
