That's pretty damning. The rest of the stats in the article
aren't much better.

To be fair, everyone is scoring more these days. Way more points
and tries than would have historically been the case. So it’s
not really surprising the current England coach’s team has
conceded more than past coaches teams.
Not trying to defend Borthwick. But that stat on its own isn’t
as damning as it may first seem.

They also cherry picked rounds 2, 3 and 4 on the stat about
missed tackles. Seems like the article has an agenda.

Yes, so many articles and analyses seem to do that these days.
There’s more than enough evidence of the team being poor without
cherry picking stats to suit a narrative!

It is unfortunate. I see the rationale: Wales were so crap back
at the beginning of the tournament that they were an outlier
that skews the statistics. But it just makes everything a bit
dodgy. I think there's enough information in the article without
needing to do that.

Wigglesworth has found his worst coaching position as defence
coach, we really need a defence coach who just runs a aggressive
conventional defence, instead of a disjointed suicidal blitz or
a suicidal narrow defence.
Just sacking Wigglesworth would improve the team, as perhaps him
not being there may lead to more conversation around our
tactics.
