But when they kicked, they kicked into space, the tried little
grubber kicks, they tried end over end kicks, they tried monster
up and unders. We just kicked straight to a receiver, too far
for our chasers and they ran it back. To describe our kicks for
touch as conservative is to insult a serious screwed up
political faction! At one time the kick nearly cleared the top
of the West stand, but it only made about 10 metres. With a wind
blowing into the West Stand (which is why we moved to the South)
surely a longer kick could have been attempted?

I agree with the kicks to touch DOK, few times this season I
thought we have been lazy in that respect. Just seems a lack of
awareness/nouse re the game. Slade/Farrel etc all push the
limit with those type of kicks. The fact out LO is cack, it
would help to get it down the pitch ready for when the oppo turn
       us over.

Kicking abysmal but Bothma, Semi both good. Saili is really
       showing why he’s here.
Our Prem team functions a lot better than this lot. Let’s see.

I don’t understand why our line out goes from 100% against
Exeter and then to what seemed like 25% yesterday. I know the
weather was abysmal but what happens one week to the next. The
second half was very stop start and I would imagine that the
players , specially the backs, were getting cold. This only
makes things spiral downward as every knock on stops play for
another few minutes which makes them colder........
We didn’t let them score a try or get any points which shows
our defence is pretty solid now. The Italians are no longer a
guaranteed ten points . The kicking is so frustrating, it’s got
to go into space or out. High kicks must be chased. Is it that
       hard.

The photo NGA (I think) posted of one of the lineouts we lost
showed our man ready to catch the ball exactly where I expect
he'd want to - right in front of him; so good throw, to the
man... but the Benneton player stealing it from in front. Calls
need working on? We are too transparent and predictable with our
       "deception" beforehand?

Poor throw - not high enough.

Fair enough. Never really did lineouts when I played.

Do people seriously expect an Exeter type performance when we
are resting the vast majority of the squad? The reaction to the
       win is somewhat OTT.
Our starting 15 was without Brown, Earle, Care, Marler,
Crumpton, Sinckler, Horwill, Symons, Robshaw, Clifford,
Dombrandt, Bothma with the vast majority rested not injured.
Last year we couldn’t buy a win. We are doing v well in the
league and top of our group in Europe. The squad finally has
competition with an ability to rotate.
       Some perspective is needed.

I didn't expect an Exeter type performance but I expect much
better skills and tactics. Well, I do at home games - I do
actually expect poor skills and tactics away from home.

On a tiny point of fact -- Bothma played, so did Sinckler.
Otherwise I'm with you, it was fine barring our kicking.
