Congratulations to Italy.
England utterly dreadful. Suspect the post match analysis will
focus on discipline and whilst a factor, it's the
one-dimensional gameplan that's killing us. Borthwick has never
been up to it. I just hope that the RFU have the sense to make a
change before the WC.

Different players, same game plan. Great that they're ahead and
good try by Roebuck. If Italy keep the ball in hand though,
they'll open us up again. Daly in defence as expected.

Sorry for the above, didn't realise I had a handshake error and
when refreshed, it posted.
T'was to be expected I suppose, if you don't change the game
plan, it doesn't matter who you pick to play, same outcome.
Thicko blaming the yellows is classic failing to see the fact
that Italy just grew back in and also lost a player. Kicking the
ball away between 10mtr and 22 still costing us opportunities,
players still running into contact when we have overlaps and why
do we only ever pass the ball to one wing?

Positives: great atmosphere in the ground, for the first 30
minutes England looked as if they came to play then as that
clearly wasn’t working (?) they reverted to playing Plan England
(just kick the ball back to the opposition) and make sure
opposition have more players on the pitch. Well played Italy,
well deserved win.

When you have one plan, it's pretty easy for the other team to
work out what you're going to do. When you don't execute that
plan very well, you'll always struggle.
Earl is not a great 8. He's a very good back row, but 100%
predictable. He runs into contact. If he just mixed his game up,
there a few passes maybe, he would be so much harder to play
against.
Fin seems to think he's George Ford. But a lesser version. Daly
seems more like Betty Ford, but with less aggression.
I'm still wondering how replacements are supposed to do much in
the final 5 minutes. Surely he should have replaced Fin with
Marcus, ideally at half time.
But well done Italy. Thoroughly deserved. And without a few key
players missing.
