I do think Gats could be good for us. He did say if he had
Marcus in Wales he’d build a squad around him! So maybe he is
more than a one trick pony. No matter who comes in it’s a big
rebuild job so experience of good and bad is key.
My main concern, wasn’t it him who had one hell of a falling out
with Bomb? Long time since I read Bombs autobiography. Could it
be the end of him with Quins.

I guess the question would also be how long Gatland would be
willing to commit. Would he be a short term rescue DoR or a long
term appointment? He can't be far off retirement. Which do we
actually want?

I think if we can get 2years maybe 3 out of him with a
succession plan through our coach in pathway. Then that’s good,
what we need will take longer than 1year.

Lots of us have called for experience and someone who has done
it at the top level. If Gats is an option, I’m not jumping for
joy but I think he’s better than yet more unknown, up and coming
bods. He different to what we’ve had recently and none of that
worked so at least it’s a change in approach. Agree DoR is the
better option but he might help attract some decent head coach
applications.

Torn on this one. He's hugely experienced, knows what an elite
environment looks like and has Prem experience.
On the flip side, he feels like yesterday's man. He's been
unsuccessful in has last couple of roles and historically has
played a kick-heavy style.
Wouldn't be my first choice but if we can't lure a Robertson or
Rennie then I'd take him over Mapletoft, Diamond etc. as DOR.

Given the choice between him and Easter, particularly if he's
coming in as DoR with another head coach, I'll take Gatland. I'd
rather we got someone like Robertsons, but beggars can't be
choosers, and we're not a massively appealing club right now.

Trying to look for positives and it may be that Gatland will be
able to attract some top class talent and persuade the Club to
loosen the purse strings to build with a 3 year plan.

There should be an element of redemption for Gats. After
flopping at Chiefs and then Wales, you'd think he'd be
personally motivated to prove people wrong, and that he's not
done at this level.
As others have said, if he has a younger, dynamic coaching group
around him, he could be an excellent figurehead and instill the
mental toughness we've arguably lacked.
