lets hope that the tactics change.
There is no point in changing the players if the game-plan
sucks.
It is akin to rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.

Starting XV to play Ireland
15 Freddie Steward
14 Tommy Freeman
13 Ollie Lawrence
12 Fraser Dingwall
11 Henry Arundell
10 George Ford
9 Alex Mitchell
1 Ellis Genge
2 Luke Cowan-Dickie
3 Joe Heyes
4 Maro Itoje
5 Ollie Chessum
6 Tom Curry
7 Ben Earl
8 Henry Pollock
Replacements
16 Jamie George
17 Bevan Rodd
18 Trevor Davison
19 Alex Coles
20 Guy Pepper
21 Sam Underhill
22 Jack van Poortvliet
23 Marcus Smith
There are three changes to the starting side that faced Scotland
last weekend, with Ollie Lawrence, Tom Curry and Henry Pollock
coming into the side. Pollock is handed his first Test start in
an England shirt. Elsewhere, Jack van Poortvliet and Marcus
Smith are named among the replacements on a 6-2 split bench.
Maro Itoje will win his 100th cap, becoming only the ninth men’s
player to reach the milestone for England.
“To reach 100 caps for England is a remarkable achievement and
speaks volumes about Maro’s consistency and professionalism over
many years,” said Borthwick. “He leads through his actions every
day, sets the standard for others and cares deeply about
representing his country. We’re all incredibly proud of what he
has achieved, and I know it will be a special day for him and
his family.”
“We’re expecting a huge contest at Allianz Stadium and we’re
excited for it. We know the challenge Ireland will bring and
we’ve selected a side that we believe has the right balance to
meet it.”

Prefer this line up to the Scotland selection. SB was never
going to make huge changes but Pollock will bring some energy,
and I think Arundell will certainly (or should) want to repay
England

I prefer it in the main. Not sure of the utility of having
Underhill on the bench, think this would have been the moment
for CC-S.

For the most part, I'm not sure personnel was the main problem
last week. It wasn't good that when Arundell went off, there was
no pace left, but the real problem was the constant kicking and
failing to regather. If we do that again and lost that battle
again, none of these changes will help.
Having Marcus in reserve is good, having Freeman back on the
wing instead of out of position at 13 helps. Having Pollock may
help if there's space. Now if Arundell can manage to stay on the
field, that will definitely help.
I don't have great hopes, but in theory the team is good enough
to beat Ireland, who are also having a bad time.
England for the win. Probably not by much.

Again Ford at 10 after that ridiculous drop goal attempt again
Scotland with Smith on the bench.
