Well, CVC obviously see/saw something worth investing in. Tbh
its very easy to think of all the why nots but the trick is to
       recognise the positive potential.

There's some things that could be done at a "franchise group"
level that would save money for the teams while offering some
potential openings. For instance, look at the NZ teams. As a
group, they deal with a single kit manufacturer. That gives them
more clout than as individual teams in terms of cost
negotiations. If they want to, they can even co-ordinate things
like the upcoming "heritage" round where the teams have a
1996-inspired kit to mark 30 years of their current competition.
You could also look at having a few more sponsors for the whole
competition, while still offering individual franchises the
option to have additional individual team sponsors. Granted, we
already have Gallagher who have a patch on the sleeve and
sponsor the competition. But there's scope to offer branding as
a group that single teams wouldn't be able to offer.
You can consolidate a number of backroom areas too. For
instance, you could have central marketing departments handling
most of the stuff the clubs do now with a lot fewer staff. Yes,
you will still have some club-level staff, but there's a space
       for cost savings there.
That's just a few areas where centralizing things could help,
and Franchising makes it easier to get that done. There's other
ideas like working as a group on non-matchday opportunities. We
put on a few concerts a few years back. What if you could use
the power of the group to present this as a "tour package" to a
group/musician? "Prem offers you a access, marketing, &
ticketing solution for a tour covering London, Exeter, Bristol,
Leicester, Northampton, Gloucester, etc" as a turnkey solution."
Working together as a group is usually more than the sum of its'
       parts.

CVC saw 27% of the revenue of the Premiership in perpetuity, or
at least as long as the RFU give PRL the marketing rights.
Which at the time looked to be a steadily increasing sum, it has
       turned out not to be.
PRL turned over £75m in 2019 and £66m last year.
So while it has not been a spectacular return, it is a cash cow.
Which is not a description of a Professional Rugby side.

To be fair I missed out Bath as well. I was looking at it in
terms of where a ground is relative to travel services,
amenities, etc. I doubt anyone would want to go to StoneX, The
Rec, KP, or the CorpAcq for gigs given location/the amenities at
       the venue, etc...

Have we actually found a post this entire board can agree on?

I worked in Events for some years and you'd be surprised how
easy it is to make a pigs ear look like a ferrari.

The Copthall/Allianz Park/Stonex, just looks like what it
basically is a mid 60’s stadium built for Barnet athletic’s
club, it is just a dump, with a nasty 3G pitch.
No matter how much you try to polish it, the leagues fixation on
capacity, rather than having a decent stadium does not make
       sense.
Has to be the worst or equal worst stadium in the league.

Well I guess The Cheats are never going to spend any money on a
       ground they don't own ;D
