Been waiting to see them together - though if everyone is fit I
think I'd be inclined to push Konkel to the row and have Wythe
at 6 with Wafer at 8.

Just caught the last few minutes, a grinding win at the end
helped by two yellow cards for Ealing. That said, good
determination shown to get two tries in the final ten minutes.

It was a pretty nervy watch from the stands. Quins were lacking
much penetration through the middle and fell off a few too many
tackles, coupled with a penalty count that gave Ealing a lot of
field position, but they showed some real grit and invention to
snatch the win. They’ll play better than that and lose, but a
bonus point win away from home is a good return from the
evening.

That’s a great win considering the penalty count. I thought they
might lose due to not kicking the conversions but credit to them
for pulling that result off.

That would have been less stressful if anyone of the Quins could
manage a conversion.

To be fair, the conditions were awful and neither side made
kicks from out wide. It was just that Ealing ended up scoring
their tries closer to the posts than Quins did - until the final
one.

Still, one conversion out of 5 is too poor a return at this
level. Otherwise, we were pretty good (a massive brainfart by
Kildunne at one point notwithstanding).

It is a nasty ground for kickers, as it is very exposed and any
wind seems to be swirling and unpredictable, so a lot of easy
kicks seem to get missed, the 3G surface is also near the end of
its life.
