There was a rumour doing the rounds in November online that
Toulon were interested in Isgro. Had a quick search, can't find
it now but was a French sports paper. Did that turn his head?
but agree his form has been poor and attitude/demeanor since
probably BSKO last year hasn't been what we'd expect.
Northmore is a difficult one. Superb on his day and agree the
games at 12 are not his fault but you'd still expect him to show
something, rather than just being rank average there.
Coaching also a big part of the issue but that's a lot of change
all at once, even if Rassie came in, would take time.

I think northmore is definitely worth another season under a new
regime. He's got plenty of credit in the bank. Playing out of
position at 12 then with various different partners with
different games when back at 13. I doubt he's on amazing money
and I don't think beard is obviously the better option.now if
marchant was still available that would be a different matter
       Isgro has been really disappointing
I fear cleaves is not going to push on

We really need two high quality 12s and two high quality 13s.
Historically we have had a habit of breaking centres.
When we won the cup, we probably had a rota of Taps, Andre,
       North more and Ramjet

Lasike gave us some useful gainline when he was called upon
       too... Happier times.

I think this is just proving that Andre and JTH are the only
high quality 12s we've had previously... given our reliance on
Lang, Lasike, Tapuai, De Wet Barry, et al

That's harsh on Taps, who had to deputise for Andre for quite a
lot of the 2020-21 season when he was serving his bans. And on
Huw Jones who, while not primarily a 12, did play there a couple
of times and added a lot whenever he was on the pitch.
But it is pretty telling that our best years have coincided with
when we have had a powerful ball carrying centre, and fallen
away when we have lost them. That said, the other thing that has
been distinctive about our trophy winning years has been having
an edge in training for a high tempo game - in 2011-12 COS had a
training environment that included a lot of turn and burn type
play (and culminated in the training week in Dubai ahead of the
2012 final, which looked like a jolly until you saw the weather
forecast for the day of the game), and in 2020-21 we were early
adopters of the Protecht mouth guards and were training in a way
that enabled us to be stronger in the last quarter and have
Marler play 100 minutes of the semi-final.
The other big thing that I think Quins have struggled with
consistenyly over the years is adapting when the opposition are
effective in slowing down the breakdown. In the game against La
Rochelle, Friday was able to get the ball away quickly and we
played well. In the Tigers game, they were piling into the
breakdown (quite a lot of it from entry points that were nowhere
near the back foot, but you can only play what's in front of
you) and our game fell apart. I don't know what the answer to
that is, but it has been a weak point in our game for as long as
       I can remember.
