More of a reflection of the two teams' performance overall,
perhaps, than the quality of the individual players.

Lol. There is no comparison. Murley has scored about 1.5 tries
for every try of Joe's per game.

Can you name one thing that Murley does better than any other
winger?

Either.
Example. You don't rate Joe Cokanasiga. That's ok, as it happens
neither do I. However, I can understand why he might have been
chosen in an England squad because he's both fast and massive.

He's one of the best finishers in the league, is top 5 for pace
(behind Arundell and Radwan but probably quicker or as quick as
the rest of the competition), and is one of the more powerful
wings in the league despite being pretty short. He's also a good
tackler with a high success rate. It's a potent combination,
which is why he has 55 league tries, 13 Champions Cup tries, and
4 tries in 4 Test matches.
Quins were largely woeful last season and he managed 11 tries in
12 league games and 4 tries in 4 Champions Cup matches, to go
with his 4 for England and his double in the A game.

I thought he'd scored 3 for England?
What does top 5 for pace mean? Against who, Wade? Segun?
Caluori? Ibitoye? Brown-Bampoe? Feyi-Waboso?

It means exactly what it says.
He's absolutely rinsed Segun in recent matches, it's not close.
Wade is nowhere near the player he used to be (he's properly
dreadful now). Caluori does not have top tier pace yet. Gabs is
quick but it's his footwork that is elite, he's not got the same
top end speed as the top level guys though his acceleration is
*chef's kiss*. Brown-Bampoe is more power than pace (big fan
though) and IFW is also not as fast, though is freakishly
powerful and hard to tackle.
The fact that you think these guys are in the discussion is
pretty telling.
Stats say 4/4 in Tests but looking at the individual games it's
3/4. 3 tries in 198 minutes on the pitch
Edit: thinking on it a bit further, I'd say maybe Ibitoye
actually is in the same bracket, Josh Hodge around the same pace
(but not quicker as we saw at Twickenham). Arundell and Radwan
obviously quicker. At one point the Scottish winger at Sale
whose name escapes me looked like being a proper speed merchant
but not seen him for a while so can't be sure of my judgement of
his top end speed.
Edit the 2nd: can't believe I forgot LRZ! He's up there with the
top 2.

Murley is definitely your Kryptonite.
Your assessment of him is bizarre. He's bang average in just
about any metric for a wing. I understand he's a club favourite
and that's great but he's not test class. He's a Temu Jack
Nowell at best.

Borthwick seems to think he's good enough or he wouldn't be
selecting him for the squad. I think he probably knows more
about it than random punters on a forum. That goes for my
complaints about Arundell, too.
