Hooker is seemingly not too much of an issue. George is
obviously finishing next year and given Dickie is 32 I can see
him doing the same. However, we have Langdon (28) and Gab Oghre
(27) who can take over those senior roles. Behind them, there's
the likes of Tuipulotu at Bath and (dare I mention?) Jibs. I
also liked Wright at Saints in 2024's U20s.

I should've been clearer. There's definitely prospects there in
the talent pool (as with 9), but no one established at
international level, really

Cokanasiga has 3 tries all season, Arundell has 9.
Per that stats site, in the league Arundell actually beats
Cokanasiga for dominant carry %, gainline %, and tackle evasion,
though Cokanasiga is more likely to beat 2+ tacklers in a single
carry. They're both pretty rubbish tacklers, but Cokanasiga
makes marginally fewer tackles per game. They don't have these
stats but the last time I checked elsewhere, the difference in
carries per game was about 2 in favour of Cokanasiga, but
Arundell clears him for defenders beaten and line breaks.
Basically, Arundell is a terrifyingly effective finisher who can
scare teams from anywhere, and Cokanasiga is situationally
effective against teams that can't handle power. Both are not
great when the opposition has the ball.

Reckon Lucas Friday has a wildcard shot at making the World Cup
wider squad. Post 2027 if he isn’t the nailed on England 9 then
something wlll have gone horribly wrong.

Arundell's pace is x-factor. Sure, he has areas to work on, but
you can't teach his raw pace. Of the pure "finishers" available,
he's right up there.
You could make the same case for someone like CCS. He's being
picked because his athleticism gives him a perceived higher
ceiling than others.
In that vein, I'm surprised Fasogbon hasn't been picked. He's
huge for a tighthead, and you'd think that'd come in handy for
when we have to face the Boks.

Fasogbon has not had a great season, compared to last year, but
hard to have a good season, all things considered.

Maybe I'm wrong, but my perception of watching Bath games is
that Arundell doesn't get involved enough. Having a finisher
with pace is great, and they can pile up the tries by being on
the end of final pass, but he doesn't seem to do a lot for great
chunks of the game. It's the same criticism I had of Radwan in
the past, although he seems to have addressed that.
Again, maybe I'm wrong. I'm sure someone has stats.

You need someone to be out there to finish those moves and to
keep the opposition defence stretched, though.
He doesn't make a mountain of carries but he's not shirking,
they just don't want him running it up the guts when they have
better options for that. It makes sense that you feel the same
about Radwan because every team is going to treat guys like that
as being the cutting edge and not the blunt force object. The
purpose of most moves is to make space, and you want the people
who can make the most of that space to be the beneficiaries.
We're lucky in that Murley is extremely quick and an excellent
finisher but is also powerful enough to be a good option
elsewhere. Arundell is no weakling though.
