The exodus of players from Gallagher PREM strugglers Harlequins
is showing no sign of ending any time soon, with up to ten
players looking to quit the club this summer.
Former skipper Stephen Lewies announced this week that he is off
at the end of the season to join the Sharks, with Nic Lynagh
already departed for the Queensland Reds, and more are set to
follow.
Fissler Confidential understands that hooker Jack Doorey-Palmer,
who has been on loan at Championship side Cambridge, is on the
verge of joining Leicester Tigers, while outside centre Hayden
Hyde could be moving to Ealing Trailfinders.

None of those are real losses. All clubs shed players they don't
need. I'd be more worried if any of our first or second or even
third choice players were heading out the door.

Most teams run people on 2 year contracts. When that's up, how
many leave and how many stay?

Fissler is a very silly man. Churns out rumours and when some
stick, claims to be the oracle.

Yeah, what a weirdly sneering article. We are losing a big
player for us who unfortunately has had huge injury problems for
years, an 18 year old going to join his brother in Australia, a
25 year old with 18 appearances in 5 years, and a 22 year old
hooker I've never heard of whose record in pro rugby is played
15, won 2, lost 13.
If that's the extent of our exodus I'll be thrilled

They all could leave now and I guarantee it wouldn’t even be
noticed.

I want to say that my sneering at least is at Fissler, not the
players who are moving on. If they are getting more or more
appropriate opportunities elsewhere and are not needed here,
then good for them. Careers are limited in duration. If Hyde,
for instance, gets more games at Ealing that he would at Quins,
then I'm happy for him.

The "up to 10" stuff is sensationalist nonsense, anyway. Every
team does this! 11 players joined other clubs from Bath at the
end of last season, they released 4 more, and 3 others retired!
15 players joined other clubs from Quins! 16 from Saints! 19
from Tigers! It's business as usual.

Fissure is a dramatic hack who happens to get about 10-15% of
his “I’ve heard….’ Correct.
As everyone says all clubs have turnover, and to be honest I
think I could name ten+ players that could leave Quins this
summer with minimal impact to the side apart from perhaps not
having enough fit players to train game sessions in a meaningful
manner……

Surely this 10 just comes from the quote in the Mail about a
week ago made by "an insider".
As noted, is 10 particularly unusual?
