him being brought back in as soon as he was close to fit was a
good thing, or a disruption to a constantly changing line-up.

Not sure about that 63 people murdered in South Africa every day
and 1.5 in the UK.

He does say the nicer bits of SA. And Dewsbury’s murder rate is
lower than London’s but I wouldn’t suggest moving there
😬

"Better parts" was specified tbf and it is a fantastic country,
despite the myriad issues. Plus, it's his home and it's bloody
miles away so staying here has it's costs too

It is also on the way to becoming a failed state, I have family
in South Africa and New Zealand, and a niece from each has
settled in the UK, the one from New Zealand to join the Royal
Navy, as the the Royal New Zealand navy is tiny and outdated,
and the one from South Africa due to safety fears, and describes
the country as being fundamentally broken, and the only way of
feeling safe is living in a gated community.
The difference between the nice bits and the not so nice bits in
the UK is very different to South Africa, and yes I have been
there, no problem with people liking it or South Africans
wanting to return to their home, but as far as it being better
than the UK, only if you enjoy many streets being akin to the
murder mile.
The worst that was said about New Zealand was that it was boring
compared to the UK,

Hence the part that said "better parts of SA".

You could be talking about the UK...

88 appearances in 7 years I think is telling.
A great player and captain for us for 2-3 seasons before
injuries sadly took their toll.
Not his fault but hard to have an impact as player or leader
when you miss so many games
Thanks for everything and best of luck back in SA

Leaving aside the failed state idea, which I think is much less
of a concern since the last election, Quinky merely said that
it's reasonable for Steph to want to live somewhere in the
better parts of the country (beautiful scenery, great weather,
lovely food, great people) rather than London.
I'm a proud Londoner and want to stay here but my in-laws live
in central Johannesburg and by all accounts the security
concerns don't stop it being an amazing place to live. That's
not even one of the especially nice bits of the country. Surely
Steph moving back to sunny, coastal Durban is fairly easy to get
our heads around without resorting to caricature?

Fair play to Steph he was great for us as a leader and as a
player. However injuries have meant he’s hardly featured in 2-3
seasons, so probably a good fresh start for him.
