Another example of us being able to retain the right players

He's not been given a fair run in the starting squad to show his
best so another example of Quins poor team selection. Hardly
surprising that he wants away & he would be nearer to Scotland
if selected.
Are Newcastle becoming the new Bath, buying up players left,
right & centre but miraculously staying under the salary cap?

I think it has been explained how Bath are staying under the cap
and having won the Prem last season, they will have been
subjected to a more forensic analysis of their
contracts/payments.
Newcastle are starting from allegedly waaay below the cap and
made a load of one-year contracts for this season so I’d imagine
there’ll be a big clear out. And who’ve they signed who will be
expensive?

Sounds like they are about to confirm Quirke, Graham and
Millar-Mills.
Quirke wouldn’t be cheap, but with the exception of Sotutu (who
presumably will be a marquee?) none of their other signings and
rumoured signings are big names.
RB’s style isn’t usually to go for star players. I think they’ll
stick to the model that’s worked for them elsewhere.
Back to the original post - I can totally understand Turner
wanting out.

I worry about players such as Kenners.
He is probably up for renewal.
He doesn't have a guaranteed position in the starting 15.
He has probably heard/read all about the expected cuts.
There probably isn't going to be a huge pot of money to give him
more cash.
And - he is in pretty good form. He is the sort of player who
could get a load of cash playing in Japan for a season or two.

Appreciate that he’s not yet broke through but he’s been in and
around various England camps. It’s an area of a high level of
injuries so he’d be throwing away a potential international
career.
