down but we have the athletic No4 type lock in Treadwell and
Petti but we really need the big enforcer No5 type lock. Elliot
looks like the type but 18/19 years old so is it realistic for
him to full that role yet.

We have Dun coming in too, who is also a decent athlete.
Treadwell has inherited the role of first-up tackler from Herbst
and Symons before him. He does this well but arguably does lack
a bit of heft in the tight.
With Lewies going and Launchbury failing to find any sort of
form at Quins, I'd agree that bringing in a more traditional
enforcer type would be sensible. It at least gives us options to
adapt, e.g. if we're if up against a Bath, Leicester or a big
French pack we might opt for the enforcer, otherwise 3 of
Treadwell, Petti, Dun and CCS (with one packing down at
blindside) may well be enough and allows us to play to our
strength of attacking rugby, with quick, mobile forwards.
I think everyone would take Kpoku. He's a superb athlete but
still the best part of 20 stone. Realistically, I think he'd be
out of our price range and lock isn't the immediate priority.

Looks like Scott Robertson has been sacked by the ABs... Wonder
if he will make a coaching shortlist?

We were interested in appointing Scott Robinson back in 2018 but
he went for the bigger ABs job, can't blame him. Seems as the
ABs are not very happy with him so would he be a good fit at
Quins? Lord knows we have appointed enough wrong uns in the
       past?

It's not long ago Roberston was the most coveted coach in world
       rugby.
His record at Crusaders speaks for itself, and if he is being
pushed then the chance to come to London, out of the SH
       spotlight, might be tempting.
Can't see it happening but would be a great appointment.

According to RUCK (not the most prodigious source) he was sacked
because "The fallout comes after a challenging season, with
senior players reportedly frustrated by aspects of coaching,
culture, and strategy under Robertson." Sound familiar?

I would prefer us not to keep bringing in another lock. Williams
does look like he could fill that role, and
Petti/Treadwell/Greene/CCS is a pretty good set of options
whilst he gets through his first season.
Our success has long been built on a core if home grown talent.
It's time to have faith in the academy production line, and if
it means a poor rest of the season, we'll that's what many
       expect anyway.
We have a few imports now, mostly very good. Let's build from
within rather than adding ore short term sticking plasters.

Player Power again? I'd love to know what Robertson was doing
differently to his succesful time at Crusaders, or, maybe, as
Michael Jackson said, the players should start with the man in
       the mirror.

I'd take him at Quins but he's definitely not succeeded with the
All Blacks. International coaching is very different to
club/provincial stuff so I wouldn't be too worried. He's very
good at getting players to enjoy their rugby and is probably
more vibes based than you need for the ABs, but the Barbarians
players (including Marler iirc!) thought he walked on water and
the Crusaders were impeccable under him.
Really, any of these guys - him, Cotter, Rennie - would be more
than we could ask for right now.
