Prem Cup 28th February, I know it’s not Premier League but I am
sure they have us in their sights

Quite! Newcastle could be looking at it as a confidence booster,

The prem cup is utterly pointless, the complete change of format
every year, confirms it, They will play their best side and we
wont.
Would be better if it was an academy competition.

Would certainly be a more even competition if that was the case
(Except for us when we still lost with a lot of big names).
I personally think there needs to be an age limit, or some kind
of only 4 max players in the 23 over a certain age. (Possibly
combined with a senior team cap amount) At least this way it
would still put more of a lean on to the developmental side of
things, exposing the younger players to a more "senior" match
day experience.
