Do we really know who makes the appointments, is it him on his
own, or the board, how much say do the owners have, are we
willing to pay the going price for DoR and head coaches.
It would be nice for the club to be a bit more transparent on
things like this.

I think this is the major problem. Currently we have lots of
armchair experts from both sides of the argument and rabble
rousers like me and it’s all guess work as no one really does
know who has the final sign off. The board of directors have all
been around a fair time according to companies house. Are they
to blame for the failed David Ellis era? Did they have any say
on the 100% failure record of appointing the top job post
Connor? (Kingston, Gustard, Matson, Wilson) etc etc.
People just want answers
- who’s responsible for the hiring and performance review of
coaches?
- elaborate further on the break even financially prediction
being way off
- how much involvement does LD with the rugby side of things
Whilst the answers may be obvious, in part a lot is still guess
work or assumptions

The 5 current directors of Harlequin Football Club Ltd are our
two owners, their investment management company and its COO, and
Laurie. So basically the owners and their employees.
Frankly I think the likelihood of any change in ownership or CEO
is approximately zero and those who are calling for it are
wasting their time. And it's hard to imagine getting any better
owners than we currently have. They clearly love the club and
are in it for the long haul, having bankrolled its extensive
losses for 3 decades whilst keeping a low profile.

Mitchell would be my ideal DOR choice too coupled with bringing
in Noel McNamara from Bordeaux in as head coach with the
succession he’ll be DOR when Mitchell retires. Certain cleansing
of current coaching set up would be needed to accommodate the
accountabilities I’m sure - although I’m not in the camp of all
the current set up needs to go and definitely not part the
vitriol seen in some parts.

"England Women's rugby head coach John Mitchell is contracted by
the RFU until June 30, 2026, covering the 2026 Women's Six
Nations and World Cup. Appointed in 2023, his deal ensures
continuity through the home World Cup, with expressed interest
in continuing beyond this period."

Looks like Gregor Townsend could be free if Scotland don’t
improve in 6N

I have been away and am trying to catch up. Is there relegation
at the end of this season?
Thank you
