It just seems odd that someone claims to support a club, but
revels in that club's poor performance.

Thing is if we'd turned things around after Wilson left you'd
have claimed to be right there too. More than anything else you
pointed the finger at him as the primary issue. And I think it's
fair to say that we are significantly worse without him. You've
smoothly adjusted to account for circumstances but it doesn't
quite square with what you were saying last season.
Besides, I think everyone is very clear that you are hyper
critical of everything but less clear on what you believe a real
long term solution is

I’ve already said there needs to be a complete reset in all key
positions which is exactly a long term solution
I’ve also said the coaches have become stale and should be moved
on (mostly Nev) so again not all in on Wilson

What does a complete reset involve? Bring in a whole new
coaching structure? Stick with Sanger in the sort of Billy mode
or revert to the previous Billy + Head Coach structure?

Reminds me of the definition of a fan I once saw: Someone who
absolutely hates everything about the thing they are a fan of.
(It was probably put more succinctly when I read it.)

I think it starts from the top down so that’s CEO.
It’s just my view of course, but I feel LD has massively dropped
the ball with the focus of things. Obviously he’s not
responsible for Northmore having Teflon hands against Sale etc,
but it’s the wider culture that’s been created.
We need a new CEO, with a clear vision of a pathway, because I
don’t think we have a plan or a destination so essentially are
rudderless. He’s done a good job on the whole financially,
although I’m still perplexed how in March this year he said we
were on course to be break even, only for the end of 24/25
financial year we were 3 million in the red.
We need a good DOR to oversee some new coaches. I don’t think
Nev/Jones etc are bad but I think it’s become stale and (my
view) players have gotten far too comfortable and entitled.
And finally, a squad overhaul. Up to two thirds in reality could
go. I don’t think we have a bad squad, so maybe new coaches can
get a tune out of players currently coasting through their
career here (CCS, Isgro etc).
If the above happens, I’m not expecting it to be all high fives
and cigars next season, but I’d rather a season of proper
transition with a plan that’s made clear, then just ChatGPT
buzzwords without things getting any better.

I don't think that your plan is in any way realistic. Not least
because getting rid of two thirds of the squad doesn't really
work either in terms of contracts or in terms of, you know,
improving the squad.

Financially we aren’t going to be paying contracts off before
they run their course but I imagine a lot will be naturally let
go anyway. It’s clear the wider squad players really aren’t good
enough, if they were then we wouldn’t performing so badly. But
we need to recruit smarter.
Players like David, Els, Launchbury, Anderson aren’t good
enough.
As for other first team players who need to step it up big time
include Isgro, Northmore, Walker.
I genuinely think we could easily loose a third of the squad for
next season though.

The men’s team is the problem, so I would recruit a proven DOR
and HC they can then assess who they retain or get in on the
coaching/player front.
Something does need to happen quickly to create a reaction.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we get Cockerill in as DOR as it will
basically be who’s available now, I can’t see them waiting until
the end of the season as they know there will have to be at
least one sacrificial lamb. Unless of course he’s in as a temp
steady the ship/trim the fat measure and see how he gets on.
All I’ll say is we shouldn’t be put off by getting rid of people
when there’s no obvious top name standing by. We just happened
to make that decision with Gustard and that didn’t go too badly
(albeit retaining Nev/Jones etc).
