Perhaps they do, but they clearly don't know how to. They're
trying too hard some of the time and not hard enough at others.
They seem to be playing as individuals, not as a team. I noticed
several times when Quins of a couple of seasons ago would have
made a break from a turnover, but today (and recently) someone
starts it and the rest are not on the same page and it goes
nowhere.

Harlequins head coach Jason Gilmore:
"If you keep copping those defeats, it's not going to be
sustainable. That's pretty obvious.
"It's not just going to turn around overnight and we've got to
be a clear as a club over what we need to do to make sure we're
winning big games more consistently.
"We are where we are at the moment, we understand that. There's
no magic formula to it, we've just got to make sure we keep
stepping forward and hopefully get some bodies back on the field
because the injuries are magnifying things.
"You're definitely going to lose confidence, there's no hiding
from that. We're clear on what we want to go after."

Nev's interview said it all. Yapping about getting back to
playing the style of rugby they want to play, and that the half
time chat was about "telling the players to play what's in front
of them" or words to that effect...
God forbid we actually do some technical and tactical
preparation and coach some structure that might help against
high quality opposition.
Absolutely stealing a living at the moment, the coaches are
delusional if they don't understand how bad we are both sides of
the ball right now. The attack was marginally better than the
defence but that's because that's where our most talented and
driven players excel; it's still a far cry from a middling pro
team, let alone a good one, and the defence is absolutely
appalling. I understand people focussing on missed tackles and
they absolutely are a problem - David, Isgro, Northmore missed a
hatful between them - but our tackle percentage was very similar
to Saints, the real difference was our painfully naive defence
giving up an overlap at every opportunity. Nobody seemed to have
any idea what they were supposed to do to stop the rot.

It's not just missed tackles though. It's how much ground you
left them make before completing a tackle, or how easily they
can offload either before or during contact.
Nev's interview was just meaningless words really. More movement
both sides of the ball? What does that mean.

Reading between his words, I got the sense he was suggesting the
players weren’t working hard enough off the ball.
