The season has been a disaster, and the article is saying pretty
much what we have all been saying, but as a bit of a reality
check, there are only 6 teams still playing for the playoffs,
Sale’s season was ended last night, and Saracens or Leicester’s
season will likely end on Sunday.
The 10 team league structure, gives very little latitude for
losing matches, and if you don’t get a home draw in the European
knockout stages you are probably finished, the weird group stage
structure makes that a lottery.
The Prem either needs to expand to 12 and become a franchise or
change the MOS around ground capacity and allow relegation, as
at present the rest of our season is meaningless.
We have problems but after this weekend so do another 4 teams,
we have to make sensible changes next year, experienced coaches,
and changes to the player group, if we do that then things will
get better, if we don’t then we really are in trouble.

Newcastle will be a different breed with a spine next season so
unless we have wholesale changes, which will be an entire cull
of the coaching staff, a new CEO and probably a third at least
of the squad we can expect to be bottom next season. I might
sound negative, but I was saying this last year and it’s come to
pass…

Talking about Newcastle, did anyone watch their game last night?
I didn't see it, but I wanted to say congratulations to
Newcastle and their fans for a first win of the season. They've
been building towards it, I've thought, and they finally pulled
it off. Slightly concerning for us, though.

The Glos hooker was having a nightmare.
They lost nearly every lineout.
I can't work out why they didn't hook him before half time.

If we make that many changes at one go, then you can write of
next season and probably the next one too

I think it’s going to be needed, a long term project is what’s
needed not a plaster on a gunshot wound. The fundamental issues
at the club run deeper than just a few signings etc, we had no
change with Wilson going, so a brand new set of eyes across the
board is needed. We also need to create a project for players to
buy into, those who are already here and any potential
signings….we very clearly do not have that

Are you proposing a three year plan?

Year 1: sack everyone crap, rebuild
Year 2: transition into being less crap (not hard at current
standards)
Year 3: be fairly competitive
Business priorities will be rugby based rather than shirt design
or virtue signalling. No former birthday shoutouts, no clips
posted on socials from previous years gone by games.
Off top of my head
