       Full press conferences

On the Quins website there are new two new full press
conferences, one from Alex Dombrandt and one from Jason Gilmore.
Previously to hear them all one had to do was click on the arrow
but as from today in order to listen to them you are expected to
go to other locations. Why not make them available first time on
       the website?

I quite like the press conferences with coaches being shared
(although agree this weeks route to them is painful). Sounds
like Gilmore is rowing back on his comments after the game last
week and he comes across well but hard to believe he hasn’t lost
the dressing room. Dommers really does just rely on the media
training and nothing much of interest there. The player ones
are pretty bland but I get why.

The ones that end up on social media sites get ripped apart by
people who are clearly not happy at the situation.
       And rightly so.
Many calling for change now, heads to roll, sacking, etc etc.
No one want to loose their job at this time of year but things
       need to happen ASAP
If Liverpool FC can do it so can Quins.

Liverpool are owned by Fenway sports group, which also own the
Boston Red Sox and the Pittsburgh penguins and a NASCAR team,
they are not there for the love of football or Liverpool fans.
Like all of their investments Liverpool are long term
profitable, and worth much more than the purchase price, they
have also allowed minority investors to purchase 20% of the
club, but inside of the FSG structure.
They are well practiced at the US sports pantomime of gestures
to appease fans without any real change, and the bottom line is
       profit over success.
Harlequins need to make changes, but they need to be the right
people brought in, not just the same thing we have done for the
       last 10 years.

Thanks to otter.ai for doing the transcription and chatGPT for
       the summary.
Dombrandt: frustration, belief and backing the process
Alex Dombrandt said he’s delighted to be back after a
frustrating hamstring setback, feeling good after getting half
an hour against Sale and now keen to build momentum.
He admitted there’s frustration in the squad at where Quins are
this season, but stressed it’s not a lack of belief. The group
is having honest conversations, pulling together, and remains
confident they can turn things around in what he described as an
unforgiving league where even small dips get punished.
As captain, Dombrandt said leadership is shared across the
squad, with players holding each other accountable and everyone
focused on doing their role as well as possible. He rejected the
idea that Quins are “miles off it”, pointing to strong
performances in parts of games this season (Leicester, Leinster,
early-season results), but acknowledged they haven’t been good
       enough at finishing matches.
He doesn’t want to use Quins’ young squad as an excuse, saying
there’s an expectation to win regardless of experience. Part of
his role is helping take pressure off younger players while
       maintaining standards.
Looking ahead to Northampton, Dombrandt highlighted the
challenge of playing a form team with top attacking talent in a
hostile atmosphere. He said the start will be crucial — Quins
can’t allow Saints to dictate tempo — and that mindset early on
       will shape the game.
On attack, Dombrandt agreed confidence is a major factor. Quins
are working hard in training to rediscover their attacking
“mojo”, believing they’re not far away from things clicking and
looking like the Quins of recent seasons.
Finally, he had a message for supporters: the players accept
responsibility for results, are working relentlessly to improve,
and believe they can still change the direction of the season —
asking fans to stick with them and stay behind the team.
Gilmore: confidence, execution and backing our game
Jason Gilmore admitted frustration at how quickly the Sale game
got away from Quins, especially after leading at half-time.
Back-to-back tries early in the second half knocked confidence
and poor execution followed, with lineout issues and turnovers
in the final 25 minutes preventing any pressure being built.
He acknowledged confidence is fragile at the moment, leading to
rushed decisions and players trying too hard individually – from
good intent, not lack of effort. The squad has since held
meetings to “reset” the Premiership campaign, with 10 games left
and a focus on getting Quins’ rugby back on the pitch rather
       than over-analysing opponents.
While Quins are in a strong position in Europe (Stormers at home
next), the Premiership hasn’t been written off. Northampton this
weekend is seen as a big test, with Gilmore praising Saints’
form, attacking quality and individuals, but stressing Quins
must focus inwardly and execute their own game.
A key message was the need for greater fight when under
pressure, and for sustained effort over difficult 10–15 minute
periods. Gilmore sees attack as the main confidence driver –
Quins want to “release the shackles”, get the ball moving and
       start collecting bonus points again.
The mood in the squad is frustration rather than anger, mainly
around failing to convert territory, defensive errors and
set-piece issues. Jack Walker and Caden Early are both going
through HIA protocols. Selection-wise, there will be no
wholesale changes, but places will be earned on performance and
behaviour, with the Prem still very much in focus.
