Who's giving them a free pass? They're obviously loons. There's
a reason why flat earthers are synonymous with crazy people.
Even the 6000 years comment ignores that creationists are widely
mocked.
Of course, flat earthers aren't targeting groups of people or
whipping up hate and aren't particularly prevalent on the
cesspit that is social media, so it's easy to just forget they
exist.
And more pertinently, none of them are being discussed as
potential DoR / head coach appointments for Quins...
Interesting that you criticised the flat earth and creationist
loons but dodged criticising the Muslims.

Is it interesting or is it simply that I thought you were
referring to the winged horse of greek legend and I assumed that
was some niche left wing conspiracy theory you were referring
to?
Generally speaking I'd say that the more fundamentalist the
religious beliefs the less of a free pass anyone gets. It goes
without saying that that includes Muslims - you only have to
look at some of the posts Easter retweeted to see that.

officer and in the Met, most religions are fine until they are
distorted, and that can happen to all religions.
The former Yugoslavia had two different Christian groups who
committed atrocities on Muslims, Northern Ireland have two
Christian groups, and Iraq was two different sects, with
assorted other groups.
You can find problems in any religion, but I respect people’s
right to believe as long as it does not impact on others rights
to believe in something different or not believe at all, or
cause harm.

I think you massively over estimate my desire to engage with you
on essentially any topic, especially when a) I have no idea how
many Muslims or which sects actually believe in these things
versus pay lip service to it, b) widespread mainstream religious
beliefs are a conversation in their own right and as an atheist
I don't feel the need to 'defend' any of this, and most
importantly c) I am painfully familiar with your schtick and
would rather pull my own fingernails out than fool myself into
thinking there's a good faith discussion to be had here

I can certainly agree with all that. You have a CV very similar
to a close friend of mine. I went to his passing out parade in
Lympstone back in the early 90s. Quite an evening!

Yet another unproven (at top level) DoR/Head Coach? I thought
we’d all pretty much worked out we’d tried that and it doesn’t
work.
This is the crux of it for me. We need an experienced Head Coach
who is proven at this level, not someone who is promising but
unproven.
I also think a connection to the club can be a hindrance.
Whether it’s sentimental attachment or something else, I’d
prefer not to have that element at play.

you also don't know if it's his. Rather than describe him as a
"lunatic", it would be better to accept that he has a different
viewpoint on certain things.
To be clear, I wasn't suggesting that his viewpoint matched any
of those at all. I don't know if it does or not. I was
suggesting, though, that there are viewpoints that aren't
reasonable and rational and others that we can strongly disagree
with while accepting they are reasonable to hold. If he holds
the former, that would be a problem for the club. If the latter,
then not.

As for whether that should prevent him for working in a given
role... well that depends on whether you're the type who thinks
the best person for the job should be in place, or whether
you're the type of bedwetter who campaigns to get someone fired
because their politics are different to yours, or thinks that
Nigel Farage shouldn't be allowed a bank account etc. (I'm sure
you're not that type, by the way).
Depends on the job. If, for example, a head coach publicly
stated that black people should be banned from the stadium, or
that gay people were an abomination, that would cause a massive
problem for the club both in terms of reputation and finances.
Or, on the other side, if they said all men were rapists or
called for physical attacks against Nigel Farage. Again, not
suggesting that Easter believes any of those things all, but I
am simply pointing out that there are some publicly stated views
that would prevent you being able to carry out a role like DoR
or head coach. I don't think that's "bedwetting". It's being
able to operate in a professional rugby club, particularly one
like Quins.
