I already know I’m going to go on tangents when I start writing
       this, so apologies.
That being said, what kind of ‘model’ are we running? What roles
do we design for? For example, where does Sanger’s remit end and
       the head coach begin etc.
I think the point on Baxter is that he was an Exeter man through
and through. He even coached the university team as part of his
remit to discover hidden gems while I was there, so he’s been
through a lot with that club and this last couple of years is
the first time he’s had change thrust upon him rather than
dictated by him, but it seems to be going well this year and
give us hope for a quick turnaround.
With Quins, do we need a reset? Do we need someone who “gets the
club?” What is our intrinsic culture that someone should buy
into before setting their own principles?
The most comparable/sustainable model that would be a comparison
for us would probably be Northampton, who went with Chris Boyd
as a wise head to set foundations supported by people who did
(in Dowson’s case) know the club and then hand it over to that
designated successor to be DOR. I think he’s doing consultancy
work for Munster now, but Vern Cotter supported by someone like
Easter, Joe Gray or Mike Brown, interested in either coaching or
management, would be an equivalent for us maybe?
I’ve read this thread (think he has one from Dombrandt too) -
  HTML https://x.com/GeorgeDavisJour/status/2006028171796185575?s=20
Clearly there’s an awareness from leadership that things are not
       going well.

The journo counts Easter as a "friend" so I'd take that article
with several mountains of salt, mind.
(Also Easter's a bit of a nut, a glance at his social media sees
him retweeting far right sources etc, so we'll see how keen
Premiership clubs are to take that on)
       [/quote]
I get the feeling Jammy that you'd think anyone reading the
Daily Mail as a far right source....

He's constantly retweeting people frothing about Islam and
immigrants, repeating conspiracy theories, boosting the worst of
Elon Musk's lies and happily agreeing with some pretty awful far
right accounts - sorry, appreciate you and I might be extremely
far apart in our politics but the man's a lunatic and I can't
imagine the Premiership clubs are unaware of this. At the very
least it would make them wonder if it's worth the hassle, and
that's not great for his prospects.
His twitter account is basically indistinguishable from those of
the people who go yell at hotels because they think asylum
       seekers are there

In other words, you don't like his politics. Not sure how that
makes him a lunatic, but it does clearly show which side of the
       political spectrum you sit on.

I think Easter will need a bit longer before we could consider
him a genuine contender for a top job sentiment aside. No doubt
he's had a good start, but we've fallen foul to promoting people
to the top job without enough of a CV.
If he were to come in though, I'd still want a whole new
coaching set up below him as the reset button needs to be hit in
all areas for a proper culture change

Yeah I do think that retweeting far right accounts referring to
the "islamification of London", repeating laughable conspiracy
theories about vaccines, and signal boosting 'patriots' who
spend their entire time spreading fear and hatred of immigrants
does make you a lunatic. That's far beyond mere politics, he's
disappeared down a rabbit hole where logic and reason no longer
       exist.
The fact that I sit on the left doesn't really matter - these
       aren't exactly conservative viewpoints either
It's a potential embarrassment for any high profile club tempted
to put him in charge, especially those that like encourage an
inclusive atmosphere and make a big deal out of it.

This is one of the disappointing aspects for me. If we'd brought
in an experienced DOR they could have helped groom Nev or
someone like Gray, JTH, Easter for the too job. That would have
been a great outcome. Instead, Nev looks nearer the exit than
the top job and we've had a succession of inexperienced DORs or
people promoted to the top job seemingly on a whim

I think Dave Ward could do a job. Maybe not in a head coach role
for a mens side, but certainly as part of a new coaching set up.

Wait, you're on the Left? I'd never have guessed...
The fact that you can't accept someone having a different
viewpoint is a bit of a giveaway though.
