Goodness me, it’s almost as if Tigers were trying to disrupt
their next premiership opponents. Lucky we’re all too smart to
fall for it, let’s hope the team are too.

I may be mistaken, but... You do seem quick to be critical of
Quins... I don't suppose you ever used a different name on here?

No, not at all, in the sense that I'm a passionate supporter.
But nonetheless allowed to observe when some things seem odd
(or, oddly-handled in PR/management terms). Having been in
business in the City for many years, where similar things
sometimes happened, I'm simply speculating as to what may have
been going on behind the scenes in the context of the timing
involved.

If you immediately comment on every non-true rumour, then that
would mean that if you didn't comment on a rumour, then people
would immediately know that it had to be true.

Typical example of a no win situation, if the the club ignores
the rumours we get cries of "what is going on, why aren't we
being kept up to date", once any statement is made we get "Ah,
but they didn't say this that or the other".

The general rule is you don’t comment on this sort of
speculation no matter if it’s true or not for some very good
reasons which I can spell out if required but are fairly
obvious
