Call for Accountability at Quins – Ahead of the Stormers Game

Supporters need to make their voices heard. The current
direction of the club is unacceptable, and serious questions
must be asked of the leadership.
We pay some of the highest season ticket prices in the league,
yet standards on and off the pitch continue to decline. After
several strong years, attendances are now starting to fall — a
major warning sign. Matchday support is the lifeblood of this
club, and urgent action is needed to stop the slide.
We were told this season was part of a clear three-year plan and
that this would be the year we “kicked on.” Instead, we’ve won
just three games all season, suffered heavy defeats -including
several “nillings”-, and regularly looked uncompetitive.
Performances have lacked structure, intensity, and our Quins
identity that we all love and are passionate about. Losing is
one thing — but repeatedly being outplayed and outcoached is
another. This is not progress by any measure.
The handling of the head coach situation epitomises the wider
mismanagement. Allowing the coach to take on a secondment with
Wales — and then losing him entirely just weeks before the
season — was at best reckless. That’s before even questioning
whether he was ever the right appointment in the first place
which for me he was definitely not.
Financially, we were told the club would break even, yet we’ve
instead recorded significant losses year on year. No statements
have been made regarding this and it makes me worried about the
direction the club may be headed.
On the rugby side, key players have been allowed to leave
without adequate replacement: Esterhuizen, Louw, Collier,
Marler. We now see players being used out of position, with
Northmore publicly stating he doesn’t want to play at inside
centre — a clear sign of poor squad planning.
Promising young players such as Lynagh and Jibulu have been lost
when they should have been the future of this club.
At the same time, contracts continue to be renewed for players
who offer little on-field value due to persistent injuries —
including Launchbury, Lewies, and sadly Chisholm.
Supporters deserve transparency, accountability, and a credible
plan forward. Right now, we have none of those — and silence
from the top only deepens the frustration and has to be
addressed.

Does anyone think they give a monkeys what a few of the seasoned
supporters think
Laurie told us when he joined “ You have too good a deal as a
season ticket holder”
As long as we hit the “ Media goals” and have “ Friday night
lights” the club don’t give a monkeys, after all can’t get
relegated
And ps we have Saints next weekend

Saints might be the next fixture, but Stormers is the next home
game — and that’s the one where supporters can actually make
themselves heard, face to face.
I don’t buy the idea that they don’t care what supporters think.
They have to care if enough of us act together. Empty seats,
reduced food and drink sales, no merch bought — that hits far
harder than any tweet ever could. The club only functions if
supporters turn up and spend. If we stop, the model collapses.
Right now, it feels like leadership is relying on apathy and
loyalty to carry them through — assuming fans will keep turning
up regardless of performance or direction. That’s dangerous
thinking.
You’re right that “Friday Night Lights” and media optics seem to
matter more than the matchday experience, but that only works
while the stands are full. Once they’re not, the narrative
changes very quickly.
Stormers at home is the moment to make that clear. Not abuse.
Not chaos. Just visible, undeniable dissatisfaction. The club
needs to realise that supporter goodwill is not infinite — and
right now, it’s being burned through fast.

Well Dalrymple needs to make some sort of statement as the CEO
And he should care as we are paying his wages.
Take Tony Rowe at Exeter, he publically expressed his
dissatisfaction with the way things were going, sacked a few and
made changes etc.
I have had a good few conversations with him when staying at the
hotel next to the ground and admire his attitude and work ethic.
Look how they have turned their season around.
This happening on Dalrymple's watch so he is ultimately
responsible.
Needs to shape up or ship out.

To be fair to Laurie this might have been true when he said it,
when I first had a season ticket (2000) from memory I needed to
attend 14 first team matches (fractionally over half including
Europe) to break even. When I gave up my seat due to a change in
circumstances (2012) it was just under threequarters. Due to
time and distance A-team/Ladies (later) were not feasible but
included in the ST, As a package it probably was "too good a
deal" but when it started the idea was to grow the fan base.
That base has now grown and market forces are to the fore. I
suspect Laurie might make a different comment if asked the
question now. The big statement from fans will come at the end
of the season with renewals and, possibly more pertinent, new
STs from the 'waiting list'. Many renew in hope because they
have good seats, I did for three seasons (had to give in after
Championship win), new STs are the key as they have an option.
If few take that option that will focus minds and hopefully
change will happen.

I’ve long banged the drum Quins reppresents poor value, even
sharing articles backing that up.
I think fans have been in general taken for granted due to the
ST waiting lists showing demand, and that has subconsciously (in
my view) created a culture where the men’s rugby side of things
has become the least important thing because the “fans will
always be there paying up anyway”. The women’s game has had I
think more focus for results, and the commercial/social media
side seems to be the main focus. I’m not saying it’s not
important because it is, but it’s led to a lax culture change
which is reflected with everything on field, as for years some
of us highlighted the poor attitudes and it’s finally now
undeniable

Remember when Mark Evan’s talked about, development of stand, he
said “ Too many of us took our eye of the rugby” or something
like that
Think that’s clearly the case

You seem very grumpy Si with everyone! Do you not like it cos
you and the Friends of The Stoop are not listened to above the
average fan? Do you think your Facebook group should be
recognised by the club / the chief executive? Is this your
concern here?

Are "attendances starting to fall"? And if so, is that just at
Quins or in rugby generally?
