It’s very worrying - look at who Gloucester have just recruited
and NRB are going to be flashing the cash. Why were we not in
for Robson - I thought Porter was a good signing but he hasn’t
the pace we need at Scrum Half - since DC slowed down a few
years ago we’ve missed a top class operator. Look at how it hurt
Ex for years after White left…Varney has improved things no end
       for them.
Also I look at the signing of Launchers and the departure of
Tizard. That was an awful bit of business - Tizard puts in a
good shift week after week for Sarries and Launchers looks a
       lost soul.
When Andre left why were we not in for Kata, or another big 12,
who can fix defenders so Marcus can play.
Why is Caden trying to captain the team from the wing!?
Apart from a nice slideshow and a good turn of phrase at a
supporters event Laurie is clearly well out of his depth.
I have refused to organise tickets tor the BSKO, or BigGame
yesterday, for my usual crew after Dublin last year. Quins have
taken supporters for granted and I can’t stand all this 3 year
       plan management speak rubbish.
Better hope Worcester don’t win the Champ next year - however
last time that happened it was the best thing for the club.

Yeah, this is very similar to my thoughts.
I think the CEOs job is largely to keep the club running and
manage the commercial side. As far as that part is concerned,
       Dalrymple’s probably done/doing a decent job.
Recruitment has been hit and miss, but I think the 4
Argentinians are good signings and I think Dun will be a good
acquisition. Furbank arguably isn’t what we need, but there’s no
doubt that he’s a very good player.
Players are much more of a mixed bag. Sadly, few consistently
show the attitude required. However, I do wonder whether a lot
of them are as confused and disillusioned as the rest of us?

I agree with the statement to an extent, but surely it also
falls to the CEO to advise the Chairman when other changes are
needed - coaching staff! I like Laurie and appreciate all that
he has done/does but it is now a time for hard choices surely.

I’m not absolving Dalrymple of any blame/accountability here. My
intention was more to point out that his performance is most
likely measured by different factors than ‘on field’
       performance.
Ultimately, the success of the team has an impact on the
Harlequins ‘brand’, but as long as ticket sales are good enough
and the club is making money, Dalrymple is probably pretty safe.

I'd like to see our coaching/staff salary budget versus the rest
       of the league.
Quins have a track record for appointing 'up and comers',
       leftfield choices or temporary fixes.
It's been clear as day that we need a proven, experienced and
respected DOR to take the helm.
We have a good set-up and a decent playing group, so we shoukd
       be an attractive proposition.

You're probably right, but lack of success on the field is
something that will eventually hit the other factors, and it's
like an oil tanker. It might take a few seasons before terrible
results really hit the bottom line, but once they do, it'll take
several seasons of good results to get it all back. Dealing with
the problem at the point where the failure is hitting balance
       sheets is way too late.

Management group is the biggest issue. Whilst maybe not solely
responsible, we sat down and interviewed Kingston, Matson,
Gustard, Wilson and after thinking they were perfect backed them
for the job. Most knew all of their appointments would have
problems - why didn’t the board? We are a marketing team who
       plays rugby.

I would really hope that the likes of Dalrymple are spending
effort to get a decent head coach for next season rather than
wasting money trying to get a big name in as a knee-jerk
stop-gap for the rest of this season.
The comments above that he should fall on his sword after
Saturday's result are quite laughable. He seems to be doing a
decent job steering the club towards profitability whilst
improving the facilities at the Stoop and securing enough cash
for both the Men's and Women's section. Lets remember that we
are also paying back Covid loans and improving the Women's
       training facilities.
       But - yeah, we lose a game - - -sack him :-)
