I think any of them other than the two footballers would be
fairly deserving. The footballers weren't really very good. The
standard was poor, especially that laughable penalty shootout.
Lando Norris was arguably the second best driver. Verstappen got
so close with an inferior car, albeit without a teammate
battling him.
Would like kikdunne to win but sadly I doubt she'll be top 3

To be fair, that lets you vote for team of the year. You have to
vote during the show for the actual SPOTY.
[quote=BBC FAQs]How can I vote?
In order to cast your vote, you must sign in to your BBC account
which you can do here
HTML https://www.bbc.co.uk/signin.
If you do not already have a BBC
account, you will need to register before you can vote here.
Once you have created a BBC account, you are then ready to go.
You are advised to sign in to your BBC account before the vote
opens.
During the live show the presenters will let you know when the
vote has opened and closed. You can vote online at
www.bbc.co.uk/spoty, using the BBC Sport app or by scanning the
QR code which will take you directly to the vote page.
The QR code will be displayed on screen during the show with all
other voting information. You can use your mobile, tablet or
computer to access the QR code. When the QR code is displayed on
your screen during the show, using your device, open your camera
and hover over the QR code for a couple of seconds, this should
take you straight through to the SPOTY vote. If you cannot get
the code to work, you can still access the online vote in the
usual way by visiting www.bbc.co.uk/spoty

TBF, DOK, I was replying to a post about the Team of the year
not being a public vote.

Thanks for letting me know - that's a change from previous years
(though I haven't followed SPOTY for a while so I clearly missed
when they shifted).

And: this year, apparently. It's almost like it's a conspiracy
against rugby

I mean if Rory doesn’t get it, it’ll be a travesty. 6th player
ever to do the career grand slam and stuck it to the foul
uncouth yanks on their home turf.
Ellie getting a nomination is great for rugby.
Also most players are utterly devoid of personality because
they’re just nice posh boys.

Until this year, team of the year was decided by a panel.rather
than public vote, which meant that it usually went to the most
deserving team rather than the one most familiar to the public.
The Red Roses this year put the cap on a period of dominance
that is pretty much unprecedented across any sport since
Redgrave and Pinsent stopped competing, but because it's a
public vote it's unlikely that they'll win.
I was being tongue in cheek, but the public vote consistently
over represents familiarity and under represents achievement

Being professional and mainly playing against semi-pro sides
will do that.
They are still magnificent athletes - but there are really only
three teams with the resources, the England, New Zealand and
France.
It is to the RFU's credit that they have supported the women's
game to this level.
And the PWR is attracting the best players from around the world
- so individuals on those trams are getting better.
It is hard to know if the PWR teams break even, as they are
mainly attached to Premiership clubs who spend much more on the
men's side, and have the facilities in place for the women to
use.
