Green is an excellent utility sub to have, in that he can cover
most positions in the backline (including 10 in his pre-Quins
days - we actually listed him as a Fly half/ centre initially
IIRC). I wonder if we’re working towards a 6-2 bench?

He is a great player, but he has two metal plates in his arm,
that are going to stay there, so he is a high risk player, will
all come down to who is happy to take the gamble on his fitness,
could be a great signing or could be a lot of money for not very
many games.
I would risk it.

Wow! Demoting Tyrone to the bench before we've signed another
player!

A hard no on Furbank for me. A good player, sure, but not where
I want us spending our money.
Martin would have been a perfect signing. Shame we didn’t seem
to be in the conversation.
I see today rumours Quirke has been approached. Wouldn’t mind
him!

I'm not sure we need another 10/15.
If we can get and keep Tyrone fit we're great. We have cover for
when he's not available. If Tyrone can't get fit then I think
we should look to the youth.

Really? He only signed a new 2 year deal in March this year to
Sale

I know someone on the inside at Northampton. I’m hearing this is
a done deal. Northampton would only offer him a 1 year extension
on same money due to injury fears. Quins have offered him a 3
year contract on the same money he is currently on and he has
accepted.

Furbank is perhaps the most successful player to come through
the Cambridge Mini and Youth set-up.
Though he never played at Cambridge as an adult - as he was
signed by Saints.

I think we are due to sign another sick note so sounds
plausible.

And so back to the conversation about Contracts. ie pay a basic
liveable wage based on your coaches judgement and then backload
it with bonuses for everything else.
