Apart from the All Black and SA World Cup winner are there any
players who have not been capped by Ireland in the Leinster
side?

As a Leinster supporter I'm quite surprised by the negativity on
this board about the upcoming RCC match. We have not been
playing especially well, winning only 3 of our first League
fixtures and we're missing a lot of quality players to injury;
James Ryan, Andrew Porter, Jamie Osbourne, Hugo Keenan, James
Lowe, and Robbie Henshaw. I think this game is going to be a lot
closer than any on here anticipate.

Also Leinster only choke in the money rounds. Oh well as someone
else said if we get 3 points then it’s progress.

Welcome On (Our) Board. Could you give some of your reflections
on why/how Leinster seem so omnipotent amongst the Irish clubs?

Yeah but we're rubbish and very spineless at the moment
Always a chance we have a good one-off performance but that's
serious amounts of hope vs expectation

Don’t claim to have any special insight. It took the IRFU and
the Leinster Branch a long time to get to grips with the
professional game and its requirements and demands. Once they
did so, the larger population and financial heft on the east
coast of the island was availed of more effectively through the
appointment of IRFU development officers in the Province,
greater outreach to junior rugby clubs and schools and the
creation of a good Academy predicated on those. Once structures
were in place, population and capital gave us an advantage over
the other provinces over time, such that in recent times, the
majority of central international contracts were vested in
Leinster. The IRFU used to pay the whole of these contracts
which gave Leinster further advantages over the other Provinces
when it came marquee player recruitment as it had money to spare
as a consequence. Now, however Leinster has to pay 40% of the
value of those contracts under new arrangements as far as I’m
aware.
I would hope that we should be able to win the game playing at
home but there are no gimmes. We’ve only won 3 of 6 Leagues
games played, thus far, and in the games won our play was far
from inspired. The reintegration of international players has
been hampered by post Lions mandatory rest requirements and then
losing them again for the autumn internationals and also by a
host of injuries. I won’t be able to attend the game but will
anxiously await news of the result.

Welcome John MB! Always great to have some good opposition fan
perspective on the board.
I would not be remotely anxious about the result. You'll walk it
by 30+ and quite possibly a lot more than that. We've won 2 of 6
league games this year and our last 2 away league games have
seen some of the worst away performances in living memory - the
Exeter game closely tying with the embarrassment at your second
home last year.

Thanks A222Quin. I'm not hugely acquainted with how things are
going in English rugby. Does Quins have a lot of injuries or are
players being withheld for later games thought more winnable?
The weather here is horrible and it is likely that it will rain
again in the hours leading up to tomorrow's match. I wonder what
effect that will have on how the teams play? Maybe deep
pessimism is my default position but I remain wary of this
fixture. We really struggled to beat the Dragons last time out.
I don't want to offend people but the Dragons are a very, very
poor team and our performance against was pretty blah!
