Frankly that couldn't have gone any better for England!
Pool E is quite interesting for the more lesser nations.
USA/Japan/Samoa will be a good battle between them for the
second spot behind France

For the knockout stage, if results go as you might expect then I
think England could face Italy in the last 16, Australia in the
quarter final and then Ireland/Argentina? SA, NZ and France all
in the other half of the draw...

Looks like they'll be one or two spankings but that was
inevitable when they increased the number of teams.

Pools B & E are the closest to having some jeopardy in them, as
they're the ones where the 2nd/3rd is going to be a proper
fight.

I saw that (on current rankings) NZ's route to a final is
Australia, SA, France, England

I think it's an excellent draw for England. No RWC QF or SF is
ever easy, but avoiding NZ/SA/France until the Final is a major
win, and there's a fair chance that Eddie will be targeting
Australia in the Round of 16, and Argentina will continue their
good run of RWC QFs and Ireland their dire one.
Either way, on current form Australia or Japan then Argentina or
Ireland is about as straightforward a run as you could hope for
- though it promises some great games along the way.
