Etzebeth in trouble

Horrible eye gouge at the end of the game. Completely
inexplicable. Cruising to a thumping win at the end of an
excellent international year and does that.
No doubt some morons will try to defend it

World Rugby conspiracy. He was attacked by the Welsh lad’s eye.
To be fair I haven’t seen anything but condemnation of his
actions so far.

He needs to be banned for a very long time. It’s completely
intentional and no need for it when you’ve rinsed a team by
70-odd points to nothing. Disgusting.

Could be 6 months to 4 years, if they they view it a top end
entry point. Hard to see it any other way, IMO. I've never seen
such a clear case of deliberate eye contact.

Yeah. He was looking directly at the Welsh player when he did
it. No mitigation and no excuses.

Very poor by Etzebeth. At first I thought he got his thumb in
the eye by accident but if he had he would’ve removed it
immediately but he seemed to push in further before moving up
the face. Deserves a long ban. Not what we need in the game.
Good refereeing decision to go straight to red with no messing
about.

One of my favourite Saffers - today he had a brainfart and I
hope he's banned for a very long time!
(ps Schalk Burger should still be in prison for his eye-gouging
Fitxgerald during Lions in 2009).

Check out the comments section of RugbyPass. It seems to be a
magnet for the less rational Bok fans. Apparently it really is
all a conspiracy against South Africa and they receive harsher
discipline than any other team. Even in the Ireland game.
