young side most weeks and the coaching team weren't right for
that sort of challenge. This season they've added Tom Hooper,
Len Ikitau, Stephen Varney, Joseph Dweba, and a handful of other
very experienced players to guide what was a talented but fairly
inexperienced and slightly aimless group.

We, too, could have recruited well. In fact, some might say we
did. A bunch of Argentinian internationals in the pack, for
instance. But somehow we're worse than we were last season.

Absolutely. Which suggests the problem isn't just playing
personnel... though I don't think they should be excused the
lack of effort or skills we've seen far too often this season

Let's acknowledge how much Quins are not playing like a team.
Murley made quite a few runs, and there was no one to support
him. Likewise, towards the end, Marcus made some bursts through
the line that would have resulted in tries in the past and which
just came to nothing. I don't know what they're doing in
training, but they are not figuring out how to play together.

I think I might now be a Bristol fan instead.

The fact we haven't had a settled centre partnership since Andre
left doesn't help. We keep chopping and changing, and I don't
think the double pivot approach is helping Marcus.

Team needs a total overhaul but if they didn’t do all that stuff
we wouldn’t exist.
BG is 10% of annual revenue - so given it’s been forced to move
pre Xmas I imagine we’ll struggle to break even this year - and
the fact breaking even is a goal is ludicrous.
The club has to try to make money, not sure they should stop
just because the team are shit or the CEO doesn’t care.
Fewer people coming to games makes it even harder to make money
- so it’s highly unlikely that the board don’t think about it.

The inconsistent selection isn't helping but what we saw today
is far beyond that. It's difficult to overstate just how bad the
teamwork and organisation was. A huge number of individual
mistakes bolted into a complete absence of cohesion. They looked
worse than a scratch team thrown together the day before the
game.

My new team is 35-0 up over Saints at half time. Just saying.

I like Fin Smith but I will admit to having a bitter chuckle at
the try that came from him being smashed in the tackle and
losing the ball.
Saints not quite as bad as we were but Bristol are ten times
better than Gloucester were, which makes it all the more galling

Does anyone think Dombrandt is actually a good captain? I
personally think there’s next to no leadership out on the field.
In contrast to the days of Robshaw/Vos who had the ability to
actually make a difference to those around them.
