Genuinely, yes because clearly I massively rate Marchant. I also
think a midfield of Ford, Ma'asi-White and Marchant is very
       promising. But...
The flipside of the coin is that he's coming in to replace RdP
who has been a real stalwart for us. Joe has big shoes to fill
not least in terms of robustness and dependability

The best thing I can say is that I'll be forever thankful that
the rumours about him moving to S*racens a while back didn't
       come to pass.

Has rarely been in the Stade Francais team this season, they
have been playing Nene, who was meant to be his replacement last
year. at outside centre, and ward at inside centre.

I dunno about rarely. 7 appearances in the top14 out of a
possible 10, starting 5. Played a huge amount last season too

Yeah, he's certainly played a bit. Stade didn't score too many
tries in the last 2 seasons. We tended to score plenty and
concede similar. I haven't exactly analysed it , though.
       😁

Look at who Stade's DOR is. Might explain the last of tries

At least it isn't Sarries, but it's a shame there wasn't space
       for him at Quins.
I think he could definitely do a job for England, but not sure
he's massively suited to the current game plan.

The problem with that is it is not saying anything, how long is
the contract, is it out of line with what other players are
getting, and the fact that a number of players may have failed
to come to an agreement, perhaps shows that he may have a
       distorted view of the market.
Post covid it was a buyers market, the Marchant signing is not
that good a pointer, as been wanting away for a couple of
seasons, is not the first choice in his position at Stade, and
according to some of the French media would have been 3rd choice
at outside centre if he had stayed next year.
Will be interesting with who they do end up signing, and if they
will be EQP and world class.

I'm sure they do ask for ridiculous sums, who doesn't want to
earn a six figure salary (not including those after the decimal
point)? However we all have to accept in the words of the
Rolling Stones that you can't always get what you want.....
If the picture is supposed to represent the player(s) involved
then it must be Pollock as CCS already renewed
