       --- Quote from: T-Bone link ---

       > This time last year the pundits and casual fans were raving
about Marcus. Fin played against Japan and looked decent - not
       that hard.
       >
       > Then Healey suggested, as he likes to look clever, that Marcus
can't bring others into the game and fin is better at leading a
backline. The other pundits and casual pick this up and it
       becomes gospel.
       >
       > Come 6 nations, borthwick decides to start fin at 10. Marcus
goes to fullback and all of a sudden the accepted narrative is
that fin is the better 10 and Marcus had to focus on 15 or 23.

       > People are very fickle and quick to trot out the latest
       accepted narrative

I am fairly certain that the words clever and Healey are
       mutually incompatible.

I agree with T-bone, there was a stark increase in "Marcus can
play 15" after Healey opened his chasaming (not a word) gob and
loads piled on. We know him better as we see more of him and I
don't remember the Stoop bars alive with talk of Marcus as a 15.
He's now said he can see Fin at 12, so wait for that to permeate
around and that'll be the next thing

I'm surprised that more people haven't cottoned on to the fact
that Healey is reliably wrong about everything and you should
believe the opposite to what he says at all times.

The Marcus can’t bring others into the game is also complete
tosh - one of his key strengths is the ability to fix and hold a
defence before passing onto the players outside.
Also against New Zealand he brought others into the game simply
be being there and attracting the attention of the defence - up
until that point NZ where quite comfortable in marshalling Ford
knowing full well he was the only play maker.

To be fair, at international level Marcus hasn’t been as good at
bringing others into the game as we know he can be, but that’s
arguably more of a coaching and selection issue. You’d expect a
10 to be able to bring his club teammates into a game, but it’s
a bit harder if you’re used to Marchant and Murley but they give
       you Slade and Malins
