I don't mind it on the whole. Definitely prefer Marcus coming
off the bench to starting at 15, and it was always going to be a
straight choice between Ford and F Smith to play 10, in light of
recent selections. Would still love to see Ojomoh at 12, but
it'd be a tough gig to be thrown straight in against the ABs
without having played in the previous two matches.
I don't see what Spencer offers from the bench, though. You
either start him or have a replacement 9 who can change the
tempo (positively).

Well, not particularly surprising or inspiring. Fairly

You just feel that Roebuck & IFW will have to do Freddie's
tackling for him as well. W Jordan will run around him twice,
just for sh*ts and giggles. Would prefer Carpenter there for
defensive nouse.
Still, is what it is and I imagine Matt Dawson will be seething,
having put his heart out there that F Smith was England's 10.
Such a big surprise ex Saints' player back's current Saints'
player.
Looks like the 'Pom' squad is now gonna be a thing for top tier
opponents but delighted for our Fin as I think he's still a
better scrummager than Genge. I'm sure the press/pundits and
Austin Healey will be putting it out as Marcus v Mackenzie, who
will have the bigger impact.

From the Grauniad's article on this:
"Ford’s return to lead the side from the No 10 jersey was
expected given his early season form for Sale"
I assume we're all just going to memory-hole that 65-14 Sale
loss to Saracens where Ford was terrible?
I'm not actually objecting to him being England's starting 10,
but as justification, that line is a joke.

More widely, I think Roebuck will be an improvement on Freeman
as he's been more in form this season, particularly in the air,
the bench will be really strong again, but I think Steward
really needs to step up if he wants to keep that shirt when
Furbank is fit. Likewise, Dingwall has not convinced at 12 so he
needs a big game.

Dawson made some really strange comments in that piece. I'm all
for giving Fin Smith the shirt but he was really out there at
times
Anyway, pleasing to see we've put so much stock in that vaunted
continuity that we've made 7 changes
