I wouldn't be surprised if we see Marcus at FB if Steward has
any knock, afterall its "only" Fiji. Carpenter must be kicking
himself as he would have been a nailed on starter and could have
really put a marker down to challenge Furbanks claim for the
       starting berth for the 6n.

Probably the original source of where I nicked it from.

Stick Roebuck back there and play an actual winger would be my
       plan... But never mind.

Has he played FB much? TBF I think Roebuck has done a good job
when asked. Out of the squad except Marcus, perhaps Arundell
would be an outside pick, but again he's not played much there.
Freeman too, but I can't see him moving from 13 atm.

How will he get on with his new centre partner.

God no. I'm all for a player who can step in and cover
something, but thats in an emergency mid game crisis. Earl can
play centre in the fashion he did against Wales, when basically
it was the only workable solution. As a starting idea? No. Lets
just play players in the positions they excel in week in week
out. It seems like SB is trying to hard to be some kind of
       reinvent the wheel coach

He would probably invent a triangle shaped wheel this week and
square wheel the next week, so far at centre we have a wing
playing outside centre, last week the suggestion was to give Fin
Smith some time at inside centre and now Ben Earl, someone also
mentioned that he had considered Marcus at 12.
Earl is a good emergency option if you have a 6-2 split but as
you say seems madness to start him, he would be better employed
instead of Underhill with a ball carrying 8 in the side.

It's very much a copy of some crazy Eddie experiment. Does
anyone remember the EJ idea of having Ellis Genge spending large
periods of the game mostly in the back field?(think against
       France)
