I think he's going to have to do a lot to get in ahead of
Furbank/Carpenter/Steward who are the main considerations. The
biggest issue for Green is pre injury 100%, however still a few
defensive questions which may be exposed at the top level. If he
has a good season, its possible though

it is strange looking at the options as a "one-eyed" Quins fan.
Consider that Quins have a Prem game this weekend and all of the
mentioned players were in the wider Quins squad.
At 15 - Would I rather have Green, Furbank, Carpenter or Steward
playing for Quins this weekend? I would rather have Green.
Green is hard to tackle, makes hard tards and scores tries that
he has no right to (see his try #2 from Saturday).
At 10 - Would I rather have M.Smith, F.Smith or Ford? No brainer
- Marcus.
At 6 - Would I rather have CCS or the other options? Kenners
It could be that Green, Smith and Kenners are what people call
"good club" players and "not international standard", etc., as
opposed to CCS who is seen as a nailed on international.

Doesn't make sense to me. I would have had one of F.Smith or
Ford at 10 and Marcus with the 23 shirt. What good is it having
a very similar 10 replacement as one of your two back options on
the bench.

Interesting F Smith is seen as having more value off the bench,
probably the wrong call.
I'm glad that Slade hasn't featured. Quite often he's played
great for his club yet for England when he gets a start is
fairly absent, so its probably a good time to see how Freeman
goes to at least give options for the future.
No issues with dingwall, I think hes a fairy good hard running
centre

One of the national papers said Fin is going to get minutes at
12, so guessing the Freeman at 13 covers back 3 from there and
Pollock/Earl is the emergency back.
It’s the 1st of 4 games, I’m sure Marcus will be getting
minutes. But hard to say he had to be there given the clunker at
Exeter and Ford having the goodwill from Argentina (even if his
form for club has been mixed.)

Marcus misses out entirely, as do CCS & Kenners:
15 Freddie Steward
14 Tom Roebuck
13 Tommy Freeman
12 Fraser Dingwall
11 Immanuel Feyi-Waboso
10 George Ford
9 Alex Mitchell
1 Fin Baxter
2 Jamie George
3 Joe Heyes
4 Maro Itoje
5 Ollie Chessum
6 Guy Pepper
7 Sam Underhill
8 Ben Earl
Replacements
16 Luke Cowan-Dickie
17 Ellis Genge
18 Will Stuart
19 Alex Coles
20 Tom Curry
21 Henry Pollock
22 Ben Spencer
23 Fin Smith

Fin doesn't start then Marcus' perceived versatility (even
though very few of us here believe in the Marcus at 15
experiment) will surely win the day in terms of their scrap for
a bench spot. Even more so if England keep going for a 6-2
split.

Do we know the extent of CCS' injury? Obviously didn't play on
Saturday but there's been a lot of chatter about him of late in
the media which suggests he's fit again.

Would have preferred Lawrence at outside centre and Freeman on
the wing, Slade has never really delivered at international
level.
I think Dingwall is a very underrated inside centre and does a
lot of good work that goes unnoticed.
may want to check your spelling in your comment on him.
