Today's Results

Saracens not looking too shabby tonight plus Leicester beat
Bath.
I dont think based on results so far that we are a million miles
away from being a good side.
I am now looking upwards not downwards.

I'm glad Caluori didn't play last week!

Almost as if they put him in as a response to our tactics.
Absolutely outstanding performance.

Is he the first to score 5 tries in a Premiership game?

Dunno. Ashton seemed to think Wade might have got 5 in a game,
but aside from the tries I've never seen a prem player who can
consistently get that high off the ground. Borthers, get him in
the autumn squad! All aboard the hype train, hooo hooo!

Gotta say, the ref didn't favour Sale in that match, but their
own lack of discipline absolutely killed them, and chasing
against Saracens is never a good thing.
I doubt Caluori will ever get an easier set of tries than that,
but he is very good in the air. Is he England qualified? Is he
in the under 20s?

I was very pleased to see Bath lose. There's been a whole "Bath
win inevitably win the Prem" narrative going on, and it's good
that someone is putting an oar in.

I only watched the first half and Mr Carley wasn’t giving Sale a
thing. Twice they blasted the Saracens pack who stood up and
collapsed. First was a penalty to Sarries saying Rodd was
driving up and the second one Sarries collapsed the drive and
their back row player meandered round and picked the ball up out
of the back of the scrum as it came out. He penalised Aaron Reed
for ‘interference’ when he hadn’t touched the player. It was
like Sarries couldn’t do anything wrong.
I didn’t see the second half but I would have thought that Sale
would have fought a bit harder even in such adversity of Sarries
having a bounce back, and at home, and seemingly fighting the
decisions of the officials.

Sale were down to 13 players for 10 minutes then down to 14 for
the next 10. After that, it was pretty much over. They were
chasing, and they ended up leaving openings.
I don't understand why the Sarries 16 didn't get even a penalty
against him for a head-on-head tackle, but what do I know?
