Agreed. We're crying out for a DOR who has been there and done
it. Look at the difference Cheika made at Tigers least season.

We aren't developing leadership in our players. When things are
going against us, the majority of our players are the types to
look elsewhere for inspiration or to change things. Marcus and
the back row are really the only ones who will at least try to
step up. Lewies used to.
There's a future version of Baxter that's a leader. Maybe Petti
will also be that guy, but otherwise we have a lot of players
who feel like followers rather than leaders.
We have a lot of seemingly quiet players in the squad and I
think that's something that can be developed. Successful teams
instill the right attitude in players and it happens over time,
it's not something that you can just flick a switch for.
Saracens are extremely good at it, all of their players have
attitude and all of them want to be the one standing out in
adversity. Bath and Leicester are similar. Saints have managed
to introduce this over the last 5 years fairly successfully.
Too many small personalities and players who just exist on the
pitch, even if they do a decent job.

I’ve always tended to be an “action speaks louder than words”
man but I agree, there is an obvious of
leadership/accountability. I’m still disappointed that the club
haven’t put anything out this week to acknowledge that
performance. Murley was the skipper yet Baxter did the
aftermatch comments. Gilmour was fairly honest without saying
what was going to actually change. I remember Robshaw
apologising after a shocker years ago and I’d like to see
something public that suggests the whole club has smelled the
coffee.

when the chips are down.

<adopts MaidstoneQuin voice> Finally you all start to see things
my way 😁
And yes I appreciate that Dombrandt wasn't playing on Sunday

Ha Ha part timer then
My ole man used to take me up into the old West Stand members
bar when I was a kid and he passed away in 1993
He was a tunneling engineer and worked on London Underground.

He doesn't fit with our DNA.
Seriously though, if we want to improve consistency how about
bringing in a DOR who's actually coached at the highest level,
knows what a top class environment looks like and has maybe won
something?
It doesn't have to be a "super coach" and we're not going go get
a Rassie or O'Gara, but an experienced hand is needed, even if
its medium term to set us up for the longer term. E.g.the
progression from Chris Boyd to Dowson at Saints is a good
example.
