Most were hinging our season on the Argies turning up. Now
there’s little else to bank on making the season overall good

That game must go into the same pigeonhole as last seasons game
against Leinster. We were utterly clueless with ball in hand
and equally bereft of passion and aggression without it. Smith
was like a boy lost and the backs acted like they met for the
first time in the car park. With no clue how to attack they
kicked the ball away and then discovered they couldn’t defend
either. Cunningham-South saw the writing on the wall and bailed
out - he ain’t no 8 and he hasn’t got the stomach for a fight.
The Exeter fans were expecting a tough game and were shocked at
how we fell apart at the seams. I appreciated their hospitality
but it’s a long way to come when the team can’t be bothered to
get off the bus.

What on earth is that comment about CCS? He got injured and
couldn't continue! It's a week after he put everything on the
line against Saracens!

Couldn’t agree more jammy git , CCS carried well until injured,
certainly didn’t bail early !

Hmm
There's been a serious lack of big bollox about Quins for too
long. To be honest, it's a reflection of English rugby.
All about ticking boxes, going to the correct school, coming
through "The Pathway" managed by RFU suited morons with their
Rose decorated RFU SUV.
Then you have Borthwick in charge .............jeesuz give me
strength
I enjoyed Tigers doing over my Bath laddos yesterday, coz, they
deserved it. But , culturally here in W.Country - no fecker from
Briz will feel comfortable visiting the Rec next week.
Everyone feels comfortable visiting the Stoop.

After a good night's sleep, I've woken up with a strange feeling
if positivity.
Things can't get any worse than yesterday. But oddly, I think
(hope) that this could be a turning point for the season. The
players will rightly feel disappointed and embarrassed after
such an appalling showing. We've seen in the past how such a low
point can trigger a turnaround, and I may be grasping at straws,
but Im not writing the season off yet.

Well I'm disappointed in that, what a waste of 2 hours......
Quins just 2nd (3rd/4th?) best in every aspect of the game.

The first sentence is perfectly reasonable. The rest is just you
going off on your standard hobby horse. What have branded SUV’s
got to do with anything? Quins these days remind me a bit of
Bath under Stuart Hooper.
The coaching and senior player setup is clearly in a very poor
place. Total lack of leadership all round and to put in that
kind of performance as regularly as they have over the last 6
months is an utter insult to the supporters. Even if we get a
result against Newcastle next week the underlying issues are
clearly ingrained.

A win against Newcastle will only paper over the cracks, maybe a
tonking is what we really need.
Nothing mentioned in this thread is new, we or some here knew we
had big fundamental problems a season and a half ago and its the
same things. Until we clear out all of the coaching setup (which
some may dislike but we need a whole new vision in every
department) we won't improve massively, because the same
coaching set up have been here for woeful performances under
Matson, Wilson etc. A third of the squad probably aren't good
enough to be depended on to roll up the sleeves when it counts
too, and we've not had a proper captain since Robshaw.
Only twice i think last season did we win two prem games
consecutively. We are fragile snowflakes in essence with no
proper mental application

The issue is that if you want to lose a third of the players -
then that would mean 8 from yesterday.
The players who struggled yesterday included Smith, Green,
Isgro, Porter, Benson and Lewies. I don't think that CCS or
Murley handled the conditions either.
Say "Bye!" to these eight?
