It did amuse me that the wind and rain basically died at half
time. So we coughed up an easy try and looked completely lost,
natch.

I'm not sure if that's what he was brought in for but if he was
I'd have serious concerns. He went up for absolutely everything
against Sarries but most of the time it was kamikaze stuff
leading to a knock-on and he never really looked like taking the
ball cleanly. Today he managed to get up for one knock-back and,
as far as I can remember, everything else was lost or
knocked-on. Hopefully I'm just suffering from short-termism -
love the guy attacking with ball in hand and he scraps well too,
but aerially he's been well off it.

A game with 0 silver linings.
Selection felt curious in all cases. We picked a lightweight
pack and subsequently lost every collision.
Wasn’t a factor last week but this week Benson at 12 was a
massive net negative. Think Kerr would have deserved a shout.
Missed Beard hugely, Northmore looked massively off the pace, as
did Lewies. To be fair to those I’ve picked out, every unit to a
man was not up to it (Petti and Kenningham gamefully tried)
The luck with the choice of referee and the weather was
obviously against us, but we did also show a distinct lack of
fight and adaptability to the conditions, such as kicking low
through the wind to cause problems.
Need to see a lot more green shoots over the next block of games

Last season he was pretty good for holding onto the ball but it
was noticeable that he'd drop some of the easier ones. Today he
was absolutely nowhere unfortunately, just never looking like
he'd win one. Woodburn, who isn't incredible in the air,
completely owned him.
The rest of the team weren't any better, we had no idea how to
deal with the ball in the air even when it was landing on our
locks.

Gilmore's post game comments were refreshing. Accepts that we
were bad in pretty much every area and that we have a mindset
problem in terms of backing up results. Good to hear some
honesty

Three seasons now where the odd result has kept people believing
and papered over the very large cracks.
Marcus has been generally poor for us barring 2/3 performances
for 18 months (perhaps unsurprising given the 10/15 England
stuff), rest of the team have been generally clueless.
We haven’t had a functioning attack for two seasons - except
against Sarries in the dry.
We lack any leadership of any kind all across the pitch, no one
steps up.
Coaches have to go end of this season. I’ve said it before but
it’s all too cosy and been going on too long and it’s been too
ineffective.
They’re all mates and it’s killing us coz it means nothing
changes.

We had, what, nine internationals in the 23? Not saying we
should necessarily have won, but we should have competed.

100% agree

Can't agree with that at all - he's had more poor performances
than we'd like, but he's still the player most likely to drag
the team up to his standard. Last season he put in several
excellent showings.
