PWR Cup Final - Sarries W v Quins W, 11 October 2pm @ StoneX
DIR By: poorfour
Date: October 6, 2025, 10:20 am
---------------------------------------------------------
If anyone is interested in visiting the Temple of Doom next
Saturday, ahead of the forces of darkness coming to the Stoop on
Sunday, tickets are available here:
HTML https://www.thepwr.com/fixtures-results?compId=2063&seasonId=202501&round=7
Be warned, though: it clicks through to the Saracens eticketing
site, where you will have to not only register as a Saracens
customer to buy tickets but download their ticketing app to
receive them.
Which begs the question of why Quins don’t deliver tickets
through an app rather than email, given that it’s just a version
of the standard Ticketmaster app that the RFU also uses.
Anyway… given respective results, Quins Women will need to bring
their A game to win. Saracens have rather cruised through the
pool stages and semi, although I’d argue that Bristol are
tougher opposition than Exeter (especially Exeter without their
Canadian contingent)

Regardless of the result on Saturday, I think the PWR Cup
results suggest that Quins Women have the potential for a strong
season in 25/26.
While other teams can boast more Red Roses and a bigger
contingent from teams that went further in the tournament,
Quins’ non-English internationals put in impressive individual
performances at RWC 25, particularly Aoife Wafer and Claudia
Pena.
Meanwhile, the Cup squad has shown a lot of promise. Hannah Sims
returned from injury to score two late tries and clinch the
semi-final win, among strong performances across the front row.
Cromack, Tuima and Parry combined well (and Quins will have some
interesting choices about how to combine Parry, Pena and
Kildunne when they are all available). Nicole Wythe is also back
from injury and her carrying is the foundation of a lot of Quins
attacks (even if she is currently getting isolated a little too
often).
At full strength, I think Quins will have a lot to offer,
particularly with two of last season’s top 4 (Bears and
Gloucester-Hartpury) having to adjust to new head coaches.

Team's up:
Harlequins Women have made one change to the starting line-up
ahead of Saturday's PWR Cup final against Saracens (KO 14:00,
live on the PWR YouTube channel).
After a pulsating semi-final victory over Bristol Bears last
weekend, Ross Chisholm's side will be looking to bring the
trophy back to West London, as they gear up for their first
final since 2022.
After her impressive two-try performance off the bench in
Sunday's semi-final, Hannah Sims comes in for her first start of
the season at loosehead prop. She is joined in the front-row by
Connie Powell and Lizzie Hanlon.
Former Saracen Fi McIntosh partners Natasha Logan in the
second-row, with an unchanged back-row of Maddy Page, Sara
Svoboda and Nicole Wythe completing the pack.
Emma Swords and Ella Cromack will look to control things from
halfback, whilst captain Lagi Tuima will again link up with the
impressive Sarah Parry in the centres.
The back three also remains unchanged, with Beth Wilcock, Katie
Shillaker and Lauren Torley providing further speed and guile to
the side.
Amongst the Impact Players, Maja Meuller, Jessie Spurrier and
Ruby Winstanley provide the front-row cover, as Tyla Shirley and
the returning Lauren Brooks complete the forwards cover.
Lucy Burgess is joined by Heather Cowell and Amy Layzell as part
of a speedy trio of backs who will be looking to make an
impression off the bench.
Head Coach, Ross Chisholm said: "We are hugely excited by the
prospect of playing in a final on Saturday. This group has been
exceptional throughout the cup campaign and has earned the right
to play in the final. The Bristol match taught us a lot about
our mental strength as a group and I truly believe that we are
in the best place we can possibly be, ahead of Saturday's game."

I bought tickets on Wednesday for the game. As you said you have
to go through the Saracens Supporters and then download the app.
Not being very technical, I had a bit of a struggle and have
manaqged to transfer one ticket across to my son's mobile(was
quite chuffed with myself).
My only concern is that people I know will see that I have an
alien ticket app on my phone!!! That is a bit of a worry for me.
Don't want to delete it as we will probably go to to the PWR
league game there in November

19-12 to Sarries at half time. Sarries are making good yards
through the middle, Quins generally having the better of the set
piece and when they can get the ball to Torley and Shillaker.
They're not helped by a ref whose interpretation of the
breakdown allows Sarries to repeatedly go off feet but penalises
players who weren't part of the tackle for not releasing and for
offside when the rick has gone past the ball leaving it clearly
exposed.
Still, it's a close enough game to feel winnable of Quins can
get on the officials' wavelength

43-33 in the end. Closer than that sounds, but Quins' inability
to get on the right side of the ref probably made the difference

Saracens 43 - Harlequins 33.
With just a little more control (and no yellow card) we could
have had that!

Agreed poorfour, reffing odd to say the least. Off feet all the
time, binding and binder going off feet. Gave a penalty that led
to a try when as far as I could see the player was tickling the
top of the ball. The Cleal sisters are still fond of a cheap
shot so some things never change. Great effort from Quins
without any Roses which bodes well for the season. Game could
have gone either way but you just knew with Saracens at home it
would go the wrong way.
