I shall be in attendance there, BQ junior got tickets when they
came out, looking forward to it. Dow has been quiet in this
tournament so is due a big game. That said, her defence is
       sound.
Breach is lucky to be there, hasn’t shown in attack and her
defence is beyond questionable. She’s like a long haired Nick
       David in this tournament.
Forwards are immense and Meg Jones is a machine, so stick to
their plan and don't panic if Canada blast out of the blocks
       and they’ll be fine.

than anyone else, and conceded fewer, despite having less
possession and territory than any of the other leading teams.
They've tended to start games slowly - mostly because pretty
much every opponent has treated England as their RWC Final and
thrown everything but the kitchen sink at them. But the
corrollary of that is that they've finished games strongly (and
for the past 7 years have regularly scored or been in a position
to score at the death, including in the 2021 Final).

and more exciting rugby, and that is absolutely true.

       > What they are ignoring is that Canada have tended to build
early leads and then defend them. Yes, they scored 5 tries vs
the Black Ferns in 43 minutes and didn't concede any penalties
for 60 minutes. But they also scored 3 points in the remaining
37 minutes and conceded 6 penalties in the final quarter.
       >
       > So, the question is: can Canada do enough with their attacking
style in the first 50 minutes, against the best defensive team
in the tournament, to build a lead that they can defend as they
tire and the best bench and most efficient attacking team in the
tournament start to turn the screw?
       >

It is also being taken as a given that Canada will get the same
quick ruck speed that got against New Zealand, which is very far
       from certain.
They also struggle to defend the centre channel which is where
the points that Scotland scored came from.
And every day is a new day but 32 games won consecutively and 48
home games won consecutively, 33 wins and 1 draw out of 37 games
against Canada and never losing in England to them, is sobering
       for the opposition.

Breach has scored six tries and her competition statistics are
better than both the Canadian wings.

England haven't really been getting the ball out to the wings
very much this tournament, particularly as it has gone one. I
think part of that has been the weather and part of it has been
because the forwards have been so dominant. I don't think this
is the fault of the wingers.

The Canada back three have scored a magnificent 13 tries between
them for an insurmountable average of 2.6 tries per game. The
England back three have utterly failed to click and it shows in
their meagre try tally of 12, a pathetic 2.4 tries per game.
(Thought I'd try my hand at being a pundit [1]. Did I get it
       right?)
       [1] I'm sorry, Ruby Tui, pundant [2]
[2] Ruby had never heard the word "pundit" at the start of the
tournament and didn't get it quite right in her first podcast.

Thanks for telling me what I meant.
You'd be wrong though - what I meant was... the words I used.
I didn't come to that opinion by reading articles I haven't
read, or listening to pundits I don't listen to - I came to my
opinion by watching the rugby that has been played this year.
You are perfectly entitled to disagree with me - but please
don't take my opinions to be anything but my opinions - it's
       rather rude.
You are also perfectly entitled to ask me to expand on my
short-ish post (made from work) if you want me to.

No not enough negativity against England or spinning the facts,
or ignoring the weather in comparisons and have you had a purple
       streak put in your hair.

Against USA, Samoa & Australia. None against Scotland or France

The last two games have been in awful conditions, and just who
are England going to play instead, since there are only three
wingers, and Moloney-McDonald looked far from match fit against
       Samoa.
Sing is too slow, at international level at fullback so not on
the wing, Kildunne is too good at fullback to play on the wing,
and Rowland is a great insurance against injury on the bench and
massive impact player off the bench, at so many positions.
I am happy that Breach will score more points than she gives
       away by a happy margin.

I'm sorry if I offended you. It wasn't my intent. But I also
didn't try to tell you what your thoughts were; I said that lots
of other people have said something similar (which is true, and
maybe I'm getting too sarcastic after reading variants of it so
many times). And maybe I should have said "What I think people
actually mean" or "What I think people are responding to"...
although I stand by the assertion that, given England are ahead
statistically on pretty much anything that impacts the
scoreboard, what pundits seem to be responding to is how Canada
are playing rather than what they're actually producing in terms
       of points. [1]
Around those comments I responded directly to your point with
       analysis of the statistics.
[1] And what do points make?
